Weird muffle voice caller.

No name or ID to call  -- only info shows, New York, NY and phone number.

This number 212 461 3708 has started to call my home 3 - 4 times a day, obviously a scam of some sort.  and it just called again it is 8:44pm

I've been getting multiple calls to my "Do not call" registered # from here. I came to this page first, to see if it might be authentic (as I live in the NY area). I think not, now. I did a simple search of the # and found out it is a known tele-spammer with complaints having been lodged. I'll join the club and suggest others do too.

Its exchange 461 is managed by TELEPORT COMMUNICATIONS NEW YO.
The number is currently on switch number NYCMNY54DS2.
Around 100% of people reported it as "Unknown".

A handful of no answers in the last few days...

Called at least 3 times today. Did not answer. Left no message.

Got a call from this number at 7pm tonight. Picked up phone and didn't say anything - waited to see if someone on other end would speak. After about 20 seconds of dead air, phone call was disconnected. Tired of this crap.

Just sounded like a hang up call, but phone has been ringinging multiple times today and always just a hang up.

This person has been calling my cell phone about 10 times a day i usually answer and then hang up I don't know how to make this stop his he trying to sell something to me

i get this number calling all day.  I never pick up.  I think they want you to pick up, so they have at least that information to give to telemarketers.

My answering machine picked up, heard lot's of background chatter like a telemarketer's phone sweat shop. Called back the number and got a recording saying "You have been selected to answer questions in a survey- we will call you back later."

I have been called by this number at least 3 times to the office phone number.

Called several times. I don't recognize it, so I don't pick up. Leaves no message...Annoyed.

This site is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!  It doesn’t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  The caller ID number is usually a ‘Spoof Number” – A Fake!  Never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robocallers will then capture your number as a ‘live one’ and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.  The same goes if it prompts you to ‘press a key’ to ‘opt out’  of their calling lists, or be transferred to someone, as this will only ‘log’ your number as a working one and make it ripe for future calls and to be sold to other scam companies as well.
The best option is simply to hang up, keep your own list of calling numbers with dates and times and report them to the FCC below.  There is space on their complaint form to list several calling dates and times of a repeat caller.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

Yes but this site lets me know that the number is scam/telemarketer so now I just block it.  Done.  Have given up trying to stop them.

212-461-3708 has been calling 8 times a day for past 3 days! Scammers...call every 2 hours...Sometimes they ring once..then next time it is two times..then next it is three or more.. They never leave message..

Okay, this scam caller is the worst.  I estimate that I've received at least 6-8 calls from them today, sometimes, calling only a couple minutes apart, and basically, they have been calling multiple times for the past few days.  I have turned the ringer off on my landline so I don't have to listen to my phone ringing all day.  I never answer any of these calls but these are the absolute worst!  

This number has called our house 7x in the past 5 days. I finally picked up and said "hello" and it clicked through to a live person - Michael - who was calling on behalf of Governor Cuomo. I HATE political calls even more than the telemarketers.
I asked to be removed from the call list. We'll see what happens.

Calling repeatedly in evenings to about 9pm. No message. Caller ID just New York and number. Clearly ignoring the Do Not Call List.
