Received a call from a MR. COLLINS and MS.BENT regarding a CORPORATE FRONT DESK ATTENDANT POSITION in MIDTOWN, NY.

My girlfriend submitted her application and received a call the next day from MR. COLLINS. He stated that he liked her resume and would her to come in for an interview, along with $100 for her security license.

I already have my security license, so I decided to submit my resume, a week later. I received a call back the very next day from MS. BENT. She asked me a few questions, like do I have my license and can I pass a background and drug test. She then told me that she would like me to come in for an interview with $90 to obtain my CPR license.

I am scheduled to interview tomorrow. I will not be bringing any money with me, until I know this is legit.
I found it odd that Mr. Collins never mentioned a CPR certificate to my girlfriend. That means she would have to pay $190, as opposed to myself, since I already have my security license.

HAS ANYONE READING THIS BEEN SCAMMED BY A SECURITY JOB BEFORE OR KNOW SOMEONE?

I GUESS I WILL FIND OUT THE HARD WAY TOMORROW....(I WILL BE BACK WITH THE UPDATE)

I got a call from Mr. Collins today too for an interview for Front desk. He also asked for 100$ to get licensed and that it pays 15$ per hour with benefits. It sounds like a scam....unsure if i should go or not

0n 3-5-11 I recieved a call from a Mr. Cruz regarding the same postion...Front desk, Midtown, blah, blah, blah @ 17per.  M-F.  I followed up and 1.  I couldn't understand the person I was speaking with, he sound so muffled and on top of it didn't seem to speak english clearly.  I was ask the SAME questions as all of the above.  He wanted to see me right away.  I wasn't very comfortable.  So my answer to all of the above is don't bother.  When in doubt, leave it alone.

Job employment scams include but are not limited to:
    1. You have to pay $$$ up front for job-required stuff like background check, uniform, licenses, whatever.
    2. Your personal info you enter on the application can be used for ID theft.
You need to thoroughly check out interview offers from out of the blue.

I let it go to my voice mail... they never mentioned the name of the company, so I always come to verify the company's name by searching on google the phone number.  I find this website as the second on the list.  Thanks a Lot! I now know I wo't bother calling back!

Last month my sister called a" Mr Hazel" and left him a message about a customer service job calling back people who are interested in working in security. Mr. Hazel called back an hour later and said can she come in the next day for an interview. And so she did in midtown 38th st. My sister was very desprate for work so she over looked what he was saying at the interview " he said that she will have to call x number of people ( like you guys), use her last name only and only use her cell phone to make the calls and if she snags 4 to 5 people a day to come in to an interview and at least 2 or more stay and pay the training fee to be licenced she will get a wooping $250.00 per week and a bonus but to get that pay she would have to  be paid in cash only. They use diffrent cell phones and last names so you can't trace them and when they get rid of you, you can't call them back. And it's in cash so you can't say that you ever worked for them. Meanwhile my sister stayed and made calls on her cell phone with a list of names that he gave her, then she said i need to break for lunch, so this other guy " Mr. Joseph" a big nasty guy probably the boss said to her where was she going, she said that Mr. Hazel said that she could go to lunch " she worked 4 hours using her own cell phone calling people for them". Mr Joseph asked her " so, how is it going" she said o"k i guess, he said your done here! she said why? he said because she did not say she was doing great! however if she wants she can give him $150.00 for a security licence and start training with them!. She said that she was not going to stay anyway but thought that she can get a few days pay at least. If you want to work security go up to any security person and ask them how to do what they are doing and where did they get training. Also workforce one around the city should be helpful about security jobs.  Hope this true story helped. They know jobs are hard to find these days and some fake companies take advantage of people!. Many security bull##t companies are out there and they should be shut down and fined. Never pay for a job or go for a job that asked you to use your own phone and will pay you in cash only!. Take care everyone, bewhere,  Carole
