received at least 20 call from this caller. they hang up on me when I answer. yesterday the call came well after 9.00pm - the cut off time for all calls! I am registered with the National Do Not Call Registry.

This is Central Research. I've had a huge number of call from these guys. I finally found this direct phone number and called to speak with their supervisor 212-260-0070. A nice lady said that my number has been removed. I hope it's over.

I have been on the Do Not Call List for several years & was called on 2 MAR 2007 at 6:01 PM and then again at 7:08 PM.  Caller ID read NEW YORK, NY and both times when I answered "Hello?" there were multiple clicks on the other end of the line and no one answered. I called the number back by using *67 to block my number and the line was busy.  I tried a gain and same thing Third time the line rang 50+ times with no answer.  Did some on-line investigation and the company is CENTRAL RESEARCH.

Recvd call tonight on my home landline phone at 7:49pm CST from 212-529-5461. My 12 year old son answered and the male caller pretended to know him and said "hey whats up" then said "hey,let me talk to your mom or dad real quick". I would not take the call so the guy quickly said "have your mom call me back" then he quickly hung up. It scared my son.  My son had asked him "who is calling please" and the guy said his name was Marlin, Mervin, Merland or something like that.  Upon me having my son inquire about the call, my son asked him what he needed, who he was with and what the purpose of his call was but the guy would not respond.  The Caller ID "name" shows "unavailable".  I work for the local phone company and also have been on the National Do Not Call List for years.  I rarely get strange calls such as these so I'm not sure who these people are or why they are calling or how I ended up on their call list.  Hopefully they will not call again......  

they call all the time and then you will hear click sound on the other end. what kind of telemarketing is that? wait of their own time.

Multiple calls to my business line.  I called the number posted above from Pat (212-260-0070) and asked for my number to be removed.

They have been calling - they do not say anything at all.  They do not leave messages they call all times of day and night even after 9pm and on Sunday.

I'm glad I found this site.  I get calls from this number and others and I've always wondered who could be calling all the time. Now I know. I have always checked caller ID when the phone rings, so I just never answered these kinds of calls.  No point in getting high blood pressure over telemarketers, just don't answer the phone and don't let any kids answer the phone.

They have been calling me as well.
I am on the National Do Not Call list also and decided that I had enough and filed a complaint against them with the www.donotcall.gov website.

I even asked to be removed several times from these people they call at what seems like all hours of the night.

I got a call tonight at 8:45 and called them back using the number posted by Pat above (212-260-0070). The guy on the line was perfectly nice and explained it was a computer dialer for a political survey (which is exempt from do not call registry from what I hear - he did not claim that and I didn't ask). I asked to be removed, he took my number and apologized for the inconvenience.

The latest call I received was Monday night at 8:47 pm.  I answer the phone and I get a click.  On an average of one week, I received at least 15 calls. I am also on the No Call List.  This is very frustrating.  How can we put a stop to this.

I wonder if Carol McMahon and Gwenn Worth will give me their home phone numbers so I can call again and again and again and just hang up when they answer.

I just want to tell all you people posting about these surveyers...
These people are just trying to make a living. How would you feel? If everyday you went to work and got yelled at by strangers , and your just trying to put food in the mouthes of your kids and a roof over their heads, clothes on thier backs, shoes on thier feet. At least, they are trying to make a living and not taking money from the taxpayer. And let me just say we dont get enough to get yelled and cursed at by people like you! All it really cost you is a little bit of your time. Why is that so much to ask? They are not hurting anyone. They are not asking for  money or Blood, like some make it sound. Oh, let me add one more thing, if you just took the time to talk to a nice person on the phone for a few minutes, you'd get one call, not 20!

Sorry, but your right to make a living does not trump my right to be left alone.  "Why is it so much to ask?" you ask?  Multiply yourself by hundreds and that's what the average person has to put up with.  I've never met a single person who welcomes or enjoys cold calls from telemarketers and if getting off the call lists was as easy as you make it sound, people would simply do so and be done with you.  But you either don't delete numbers or you pass the list on to the next telemarketer, and the calls continue, and continue, and continue.  There are lots of persons besides you working for a living and the last thing they need when they come home to eat and sleep is the ring-ring-ring of some pest nagging them about buying time-shares, voting for Giuliani, or taking some lame, dumbass poll.  People have better things to do.  You, for instance, might consider a course in remedial English and try browsing a dictionary for spelling tips.

I'd feel like I needed to get a real job. Harassing people in their homes is not a job, it's a crime. My time is worth money and I don't WANT to give it to you.

Your really daft if you think talking to telemarketers or survey takers nicely will cut down on calls. That's just asinine. I get paid to take surveys and give my opinion. Calling me when I'm on the no call list is a crime!

This number shows up as Unavailable and (212) 529-5461. We screen all of our calls and this person called several times this past hour. Checked this website and saw that we are not the only ones.
