- NewGenPDR| 1 replyWas called from this number today, yet another incarnation of the 'problem with your Windows computer' scam. They guy says he's calling from the Windows support center and that you have a virus in your Windows computer. Then wants you to load a program from a website so that he can go into your computer and fix it. He tried to explain that my MacBook uses Windows when I told him that I had a Mac. Dumdum.
Anyhow...do not give these guys access to your computer, as they are most likely trying to gain access to sensitive materials you may have stored in there, or they may be attempting to install a program that will record all your keystrokes and allow them to learn passwords for your bank, email and other personal info.
Just tell them to go pound sand.- Caller: "Windows Support Center"
- ConcernedbrotherThis guy called saying he was from the windows support center, he was saying that they were recieving flags about my little brothers computer and said that all we had to do was diwnload a program from the internet that would allow him to gain remote access and show us what was wrong, my brother checks once a day for viruses and malware so he would know before anyone called I didn't listen to what the guy had to say I just hung up if you get a call from these guys do not do what they say just tell them you have your own antivirus protection and that you can teke care of it yourself then hang up.
- Caller: Windows Support Center
- Didn'tFallForItPretty much same story as above posts. So I told the guy I didn't have computer and he said, "You don't have a computer? Then go to hell."
- Caller: The Computer support center
- M| 1 replyCalled at 6:58 AM, rang 3 times, woke me up before they hung up. I thought it was a family emergency.
- Caller: CPS5
- KathyI dont answer the phone for strange calls but I did this one. This foreign talking guy said my Microsoft computer is being hacked. Im losing valuable information....wanted me to get on my computer and push certain buttons. I was very upset but knew it was too fishy! I handed the phone to my husband and he asked the guy to give him a phone number to call back. The guy tried to get him to push buttons too. Then my husband hung up on him and checked area code exchanges and put the phone numbers in and found others getting same type of call. The call back number my caller gave my husband was 249-813-4175 Sean Woodson??? We did not try calling that number.

- BettyAnn replies to MSame here. 7:47am, answer, hang up.
- Peeved and Creeped OutI Googled this number today, after receiving a rather odd (and slightly creepy) call from it. Twice. Caller ID read as "CPS5". The first time they called, a man (who, by accent, sounded Indian) who said "Can you hear me?", to which I answered "Yes, how can I help you?" and he responded with a heavy sigh and "I love you." O.o Ooookay. I told him he has the wrong number and he is calling a law firm. Hung up. He called right back, this time the little perv didn't say anything at all.
After reading the other posts here, I realize this is the same person/persons that has called her several times this week, all with extremely thick Indian accents, claiming they are calling from Microsoft about our computer. The first guy, I could not understand anything he said except for "Microsoft", "computer", and "Do you understand?" (I had to reply, no, I can't understand ANYTHING you're saying.) I told them both times that they either A. Had the wrong number, or B. We're not interested.
Caller ID varies on the name that pops up. Today it's CPS5, yesterday it came up as Wayne Sayers, who I'm pretty sure is a real person. The number was different for that call, too. It came up as 989.673.7904. I don't remember how it showed up previously, as I didn't give it much thought. Salesman call all the time. They're just not usually this weird or persistent. These guys are certainly the creepiest of the bunch!- Caller: "Microsoft"

- Pat replies to NewGenPDRGot this call yesterday for the second time. I let them go on again telling me all about my Windows issue (I have a MAC). He had a very heavy Indian accent. I told him it was a scam and he said "Go f____k yourself". I have to admit it sounds a little funny in an indian accent! Creeps
- ShawnI was just using my computer for my needs and suddenly this number calls me. He tells me that I have a virus on my computer. So I continued to go along with what he was saying. When I was able to waste 10 minutes of his time, I asked if I can speak to his supervisor. After 5 seconds, the supervisor comes to the phone and talks to me. The thing that caught me laughing so hard was that the supervisor sounded exactly the same guy I was talking with for 10 minutes. So I wasted another 5 minutes with the "supervisor." When I finally told him that I didn't have a computer in front of me, he got pissed and asked me why I wasted his time. Of course I didn't answer and I told him I would call the cop. He ended the call immediately.

- DisgruntledCalled about 9:15 am concerning my Windows computer. I asked which one, as I have several. Woman (with an Indian accent) said to turn on any of them. I told her that two of them were already on, and if she couldn't identify which computer she was talking about, I didn't need to speak with her. I hung up before she could say anything else.
- Caller: CPS5
- EdSame thing this afternoon. I wasn't here, so my wife pretended to follow his instructions but then said that the caller needed to wait until I came home because she didn't really know anything about computers. The caller replied, "Look, even fifth graders know about computers." She told him to call back when I got home. I can't wait to have some fun with him when he calls.
- Jenn SmithI am so over getting these calls! I have asked them over and over go stop calling. It's been a few months but I got one today. As soon as he said who he was I hung up. I have tried the tactic of talking to them to let them know that I know it's a scam. They usually hang up at that point anyway, so I just decided to hang up today. I hope no one ever falls for this scam!
- Caller: CPS5
- Didn't get scammed!Someone called with and Indian accent saying they were from Microsoft technical support department and that there was a problem with my computer. He said someone was using-my account for illegal activity. I said, "Okay, let me look into it and I'll get back to you." He proceeded to say I couldn't find it myself and that's why they were calling me and that he needed to access my computer. I asked him for his number so I could call him back. He got an area code and a few numbers out and proceeded to hang up on me! Don't give out your information, people!!

- Did Not Fall Off the Turnip TruckI like to mess with people like this so I acted very concerned. The lady "connected" me to the technical department. I asked the guy if he was in Washington state. He said he was. I asked him if he knew my friend who was the Chief of Police in Seattle. He just kept rolling on. I also told him I just paid $1000.00 to someone two days ago to fix the same things he said needed fixing. I told him I was not real smart about these computer things but had lots of money if he could fix it. He told me there was no charge and if I gave him the information about who I paid the $1000.00 to he would get me back my money. I told him I mailed them a check and would just cancel payment. He kept rolling on. He gave me web address to send the information to. It was a gmail account. I asked him why he had a Google e-mail address if he worked for Microsoft. He just rolled on and on. I finally had enough fun so I told him my medical people were here and I had to go. I love messing with these people.
- JDJust had this number come thru on my caller ID and it showed the caller as being CPS5. I did not recognize so did not pick up. After reading these posts, glad that I didn't! Didn't leave a message but think I'll go block this number now.

- CarlaA person with an Indian accent called telling me he was from Windows Tech Support. I asked if this is Microsoft and he said, "Yes!: I played along with him. Telling me someone is hacking my computer information. Wow! Same scam as previous years. I told him I was in front of my computer and he was happy! He thought he had a dummy! I continue to play along as I searched his phone number and read a few post on this website. Once I asked for the number to call back, he ignored my request. When I asked again he hung up. Please do not give any information yourself or computer!!!!!
- Caller: CPS5
- DavidCall at 7 am. No response when I answered. I gave the caller about 20 seconds to say anything, then hung up. There's been a rash of "Windows Tech" callers lately --I don't own any Windows machines-- and there is always a several second delay before they begin their BS. I guess they make sure it's not an answering machine. I'm certain this was another one as the caller was identified like the other posts here as "CPS5"
- DuaneJust called this morning and once last week. I have a call blocker and I blocked them. How do these guys get away with this?
- Caller: CPS5
- E KINGThis guy called said he was from windows support and he needed to fix my computer because it had alerted him I have a problem with windows. I said impossible I just brought a computer. I asked what kind did I buy since it was communicating with him. He did not know. I told him to stop calling me or I was going to call the police. He said go ahead. I then told him to get the f---k off my phone and hung up.
- Caller: cps5
- C BradAs it's been reported, Windows Tech Support with Indian accent. I called back the number. It's been disconnected the auto said. Caller ID gave the number, no name.
