I received an automated system message saying my Three Rivers Credit Union ATM card was inactivated due to an unauthorized use and to push "1" to speak to a representative about reactivating the account.  The problem is I do not have an account with Three Rivers Credit Union.  So, I hung up.  The caller ID showed 212-643-0099, The Metis Group.  A search showed this is a CPA firm in Manhattan.  Why would a CPA firm in New York City call about an account at a credit union in Indiana?

Same thing happened to me today-- I didn't press anything and hung up

Same thing except it was American National Bank in Texas. I stayed on the line since our calls are recorded.

Got the same call today about American National Bank, but I don't have an account with them.  Strange that I received this call from the Medis Group, but will definately call them on Monday!!!

Just go the same call here in Texas. Just hung up. We are on the no call is. Bet The AG would find that interesting. Might have to call them on Monday.

Received the call yesterday saying our debit card had been stopped, to press one to get it activated.  We pressed one and then another recording we hung up.  
Called back and the connection was such you couldn't understand what they were saying.

Got similar message.  Sent the following eMail to Metis Group:

Mr. Curtis Arluck:

Just received a call from this number too here in Honolulu.  It's Saturday 7:00 am here.

Just received the same suspicious call here in Hawaii.  The computerized voiced referenced my "First Hawaiian Bank account."  I don't have a FHB account so I knew that the call was bogus.  That plus the fact that the call came from the 212 area code!  It's now 7:18am Saturday

I got a call from this too. Dont know who this is and when I called back said its the Metris group. Its 7:37 a.m Saturday hawaii time.

received a call about possibly fraudulent activity at a bank i dont have an account with about ten mins ago. May be a scam. Discontinued the call.

Same call about fraudulent activity at First Hawaiian Bank where I do not have an account.

Just got the same one and its 10:17am. Who is stupid enough to use a 212 area code in hawaii?

I saw the unfamiliar number on my caller id & didn't pick up.  They left no message in Honolulu, the call was received at 10:17am.  If they were legit a message would've been left.

212-643-0099 is not listed as any number I recognize, so I did not answer this cell phone call.  
They shouldn't even be calling my cell phone number.

I got a call today in Honolulu as well.  No message was left on my voice mail.  Yesterday I got a strange text as well from a shirley@hoptown.com the text said First Hawaiian ALERT call 617-848-0479  I do not have a First Hawaiian Account so I knen it was a phishing scam!

I received a call from 212-643-0099 -- it actually WAS from the Metis Group, accountants, confirming an appointment -- completely legit. Reading some of the other posts, it seems likely that in 2010, hackers/scammers programmed the phone system to mis-appropriate this number. That was a good while ago, but I will bring this to their attention tomorrow.
