I am receiving phone call from this Number-1-212-659-6469, since 7/21/2015, including today(7/30/2015.
Whoever it is, they spoofed the number , under " AETNA" health insurance. In couple of instances, left
a message, to call them back at :1-855-403-0967 referring to "New Matrix Medical Network" , daily and between the
hours: 8:00 A.M- 11:00 P.M.  I did not answer or return their calls.!!!

This call is from a group affilitated with Aetna, Matrix Medical Network. They wanted me to call their 1-855-403-0967 number to sign up for something I have no interest in. To get them to take me off their call list (they call every day!) I had to give them my zip code and date of birth. I only hope the calls stop!

The caller stated that she was calling from matrix medical network on a recorded line and wanted to schedule a home visit with a nurse. Told her I wasn't interested, she was quite persistent, I reiterated that I was not interested in the service and hung up.

The call came in about 9 this morning, it went right to voice mail, no message.  I called the number to see who or what it was since I live in this area code, and the phone rang once and then, nothing

Matrix Medical is a company that works for Aetna (and possibly other insurers.)  Having just received a mailer from Aetna, this company will send a nurse practitioner to your home to do an assessment of your current health and an overview of your current care.  They will also check your blood pressure and perform a few minor tests, I'm not sure if they take blood for testing.  They will then make recommendations for future evaluations and care.  It appears to be nothing nefarious and may be quite beneficial for those people who have a hard time getting to the doctor or neglect to do so.  There is no cost to the insured, it is all paid for by the insurer.

The call is legit.  What they want is to talk you into a free visit from a nurse. She does a little evaluation of you. "They tell you a doctor the following year and then the nurse....and on and on.  If you are see your doctor regularly, it won't hurt you at all to be a part of this.  The nurse will want to see all your medication.  :She will ask you about health issues.  Ask you about any present problems.  It is not a bad idea.

    Matrix Medical/Nurse Practitioner Scheme

This appears to be to be basically an attempt to extract money out of  Medicare/Medicaid by signing up those on these programs for still another unneeded service.

That is, an attempt by insurance companies to increase their income be creating more services and thus more income for the insurance company.

That’s the only purpose I can think of.  Supposedly a nurse practitioner will be better at coding treatments than the regular doctor.  This may be all quite legal.

Involves nurse practitioners but may involve other medical professionals as well.

This program is targeting the elderly.  Basically trying to scare them into signing up for this service.

However, there is a lot of just plain ordinary cold-call scamming  going on as well.  Fishing expeditions trying to get information on Medicare patients.

If you have an insurance card, and you receive calls from people pushing home nurse practitioner visits, call the number on the back of the insurance card.  Check the number out that is calling you.

Absolutely do NOT agree to any sort of home care in the absence of a consultation with your own primary care physician.  Most people on Medicare (including myself) see a primary care physician once every three or four months for a general check up.  There is no need for a home care visit by a nurse practitioner in that kind of situation.  But as I say, consult your primary care physician.

This is what I've been able to find out form by own research on 800notes:
