They keep calling me, too. Why do I pay for a land line?

Calling at 3am PST !

Phishing scam. Not even a member of this credit union

Calls no answer just dead line.

Called at 2am. I called back in the morning and the number is disconnected.

Didn't answer. Have learned to recognize these snakes in the grass...brand new number, out of state (or city) first time caller. Added to my phone blocker. Next time they call, they'll get those 3 beeps followed by ""The number  you are calling is out of order. Please make sure you have the right number and have dialed it correctly." If it's a robocall, the source will be charged with an answered called...for nothing! That pleases me!

called at 11:19pm central time, didn't answer, no message, i never answer numbers i do not know/recognize or are not at least from my area code region

Calls at 2:03 AM CT and woke me up after having surgery that day.  PISSED OR WHAT!  and then when you call back it does not even ring.  LOW LIFES!

Called at 11: 00 pm but disconnected before I could unload on them.

It's JE Robert Company  When they call, I don't answer and obviously they are using a computer to dial because by time a person comes on the line the message has ended on the machine and just records someone repeatedly saying, "Hello" over and over. When I looked up the name several types of businesses come with that name.

REALLY don't you have other thing to do than to call random people at 4 a.m.

Tried calling back and it's a busy dial tone.

This person called and said he was from Microsoft and told me that he had received some information from my computer that I had numerous viruses. This guy said his name was Mack Jones and he was from Utah but he sounds like he is from India as you have a hard time understanding him. He wanted me to buy a program to clean up my computer for 100 dollars. I told him I was broke and he tried to get me to do it for 40 dollars a month and was waiting for me to fill out the credit card information but I told him I had to think about it and hung up. He did get into my computer and I found his program and uninstalled it. It is a total scam.

Since the scammer accessed your computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• disabled your anti-virus software
• added a lot of malware to your computer
• copied your Contact List (so they can email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• compromised your ID
• "zombied" your computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands
• deleted some important files
• asked you for money to repair what damage they caused

Now, what can you do?
1. Pull the cables on the computer, so it cannot access the internet.
2.  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer
3.  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4.  Change the passwords again
5.  Contact your bank and credit card companies
6.  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check your status frequently
7.  Possibly bring your computers to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
8.  Tell your friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you
9.  Plug in your computers only AFTER all the above have been done
10.  Change the passwords on all your online accounts.

Remember, honest computer companies do NOT cold-call people to tell them their computers need fixing!
