Answered the call without looking at the caller id... caller wanted to verify my address so they can send a Sherriff Deputy from New York ?  Really?  told him i dont know who they are looking for and i dont care to..hung up on them didnt care to hear about what scam they where upto...dont bother answering they will just change their scam

got two calls from this # about 10 mins apart, no message...I don't know the #, I don't answer

This is collections company that told me I had a police officer looking for me to serve me and told me I need to call their California office right away!  Scam!

Two calls from them. Never leave a message. Who are they?

This caller keeps calling my mom house saying that the police has me lock up

Got a call from this number today. Was told I had a complaint filed against me and asked if I received a summons, given a case # and told to call another number within an hour or they would attempt again to serve me the summons. I called the number they gave me and after being put on hold for several minutes, man asked me to verify last four of my ssn. First thing he asked though was WHY was I calling? Uh, shouldn't he know why I was calling. So he looked up file and went through some mumbo jumbo about me having a debt with Sprint??? Never had an account with Sprint, claimed I owed $965. Oh said he was from J and P Assoc. I told him I had to go after asking I this was a joke???? I hate scammers!!!

Somebody's spoofing the number.

Possibly KC and Associates (855-285-4108)  Debt collection scam most likely.

Caller immediately started on about verifying my address so they could send a deputy. When pressed as to which police department the caller was with, after some dodging, they admitted to being with a private company. Caller would mainly only repeat that they were trying to reach someone - no one I know. When asked what company they were with, they refused to answer. When I asked for a number I could call them back at, they hung up.

Attempted to call the number back, and it's disconnected. Calls also come from 212-660-2002 - not sure of the exact scam they are trying to pull.

I've had the same experience today as a few other posters. Two calls a little ways apart, no message. The thing that concerns me about your story is that the ~exact~ same thing happened to me last year but it was Verizon they were supposedly calling about (not sure if it was the same number calling, just the same situation). It turned out to be a scam and my confirmation of my name and last 4 of my social allowed them to attach a bunch of stuff to my credit that was a real pain to get taken care of. Check your credit asap.

Sadly, the scammers use lots of phone numbers (they can spoof phone numbers), and try several different scams.

Jp & Associates is a COLLECTIONS company

They act like they are a process server company (United Processing Services) by calling off fake numbers THEY MAKE UP then have people call back "The Legal Office" (JP & Associates) but its the same office, not to mention it's in a shopping mall

They all have fake names, they use illegal scare tactics, and like I said collect on old debt, they make up their own charge off dates and try to trick people! They are desperate for a dollar! THEY ARE A SCAM.. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOU SS OR CREDIT CARD INFO! CALL A ATTORNEY
