they called but we didn't answer it since we didn't recognize this number. Block this number for future calling.

Another month, another new phone number.  Med alert scam.  Feds must have gotten close to them again so they switched to another number and we were the first ones to report.  This group is disgusting.  I wonder how many elderly and infirm fall for the scam.  

It's a scam preying on the elderly. They're trying to sell medical alert devices to the unsuspecting and are happy to just take your credit card numbers and names. Buy your medical alert devices from a reputable dealer, not from these parasites. Caller ID is "New York".

Claimed they sell Medic Alert. When I told them I wasn't elderly, they just hung up without a word or apology. Criminal buffoons.

received a call from this number around noon.  Caller ID showed call from New York.  Since we do not answer calls from unfamiliar callers, we don't know what this is about.  Getting tirednof all these "unknowns".  they never leave a message either!!

The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

Received a call today, 9.10.2014 @ 11:02 AM from this particular phone number and C. ID showed 2126622315 212-6622315 and of course no VM was left.  Since I know that this was a Telemarketer, Solocitor or scammer calling, let it go straight to VM.

Same as R2D2 and CallerID-CT -- my goodness these scammers are busy today.  

I have been getting a constant flow of calls regarding medical alert systems usually offering a varying amount of free groceries.
Between $1000 and up to 3000.  The phone number seems to change every so often.  I answer it and ask to  be taken off their call lists.  But then I get the same call, same voice, from a different phone number.

I received 2 calls from this number today and when I called back the recording said the number wasn't in service.

Medscare targeting seniors.

Dialing back shows that this number is not in service. This means that they spoof the called ID to hide their criminal activity.

They are back...  again with a different New York City phone number... with the same old medical alert/health scam.
Previous #'s used were: 212-662-1295 & 212-662-3214 & 212-662-4579...

Blocked this, the newest number to be used by these scamming morons.
