- TPC| 13 repliesHeavy Indian accent, tried to tell me about problems from my IP address and an email address that's been defunct for over 20 years. Claimed to be some Cyber Security firm. Got defensive when I asked them how they managed to associate a non-existent email address, a bogus IP address and my phone number.
Obvious scam.- Caller: Unknown, NY, NY
- SilverbackJust got a call from a woman with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from my server security department claiming that they detected serious problems with my IP address. I stopped her, told her not to call, that I knew she was a scammer and a fraud and hung up. I would be willing to contribute to a fund to put a reward on the heads of these SOBs and pay to have them caught and punished.
- Caller: Did not give a company name
- amSame thing, claiming my computer has been hacked. Heavy Indian accent. She hung up.

- Illinois Resident| 1 replyCalled from someone with heavy accent (Spanish, Indian?) claiming to be from "Cyber Security of www.server" (???). I had to ask the caller to repeat five times before anything became remotely understandable, and never really could understand the company's full name. It appeared the caller was speaking from a script, and had trouble pronouncing the words. (Thanks, 800notes, for providing this helpful forum!!!)
- Caller: Cyber Security (?)
- Illinois Resident| 1 replyAlso a heavy Indian accent, saying they are from the IRS. I said why did I not receive any notification by mail, they replied that I should have received something in Dec 2013 and Dec 2014, which I did not. They said because I did not reply that I was supposed to do something. I did not understand what they wanted me to do, so I told them "I do not trust you." They said something would be downloaded to the sheriffs department and it will be in the courts then. I hung up, oh well. I am a good citizen and know that I did not do anything wrong.
- Caller: IRS
- KellyScam calling Florida now. Claimed my computer was sending out some sort or virus and they were from my ISP to stop it. Hilarious!

- Another Illinois ResidentCaller ID said New York. Heavily accented guy tried telling me he was from Windows tech support and there was some unusual activity detected from our IP address. Wanted to "tell the user" how to "fix" the problem. Told him I would have my husband call back and could I please have his phone number. The guy hung up. Total scam.
- Call type: Prank
- CHICAGO RESIDENTJust had the scare of my life. My 12 yr old child called me to work, to tell me her grandmother (my mother who is babysitting) handed her the phone (as she doesn't speak English) and this individual began talking to her about security cameras and being able to watch her. I immediately asked her for the phone number and called only to get a message for the # not being in service. One thing is to scam, another is to scare you and your child!!! Caller ID said New York.
- frustratedI also just got a call from a lady with a heavy accent stating problems with my IP address. I hung up on her and she had the audacity to call me back.
