some guy with a heavy foreign accent called on a sunday and said that my computer IP address gave him my phone number and that I have a computer virus and he can fix it.    REALLY [***]?     I told him to give me HIS number so my police officer husband can call him back.  the guy said "no no no"   and I told him  "[***] you" and hung up.

Got a call today from this number from a man with a heavy accent claiming to be from Windows and wanted me to go on the internet to let him into my computer because I had "bad files" and he wanted to help me fix it.  Really?  Does Windows actually call each individual home in the U.S.?  I doubt it.  I told him my internet was down and that he was a liar.  I hung up.

I received a call from this number on Friday, October 31, 2014. A lady called and said my computer was not running properly. That each time I would use it it would eventually crash. I was hesitant to get on my computer for fear something was not legal. I did ask her if she was a trustworthy source, which she did not say. I did go ahead and did what she told me to do. They said to look at all of the stops in the line of where I had been on the computer. She asked if this was my home computer - I said yes and this is the only computer I have. Then a man came on by the name of Sam Moegan. He kept kind of repeating himself. I almost hung up even then. He told me that my service packs 1 and 2 had expired and that they needed to be updated. He said it would take at least 2 hours to do it. Then he also said he would call me back in a couple of hours. I told him I would be home, but he never called back. He also said I needed to pay $199.00 for a 4-year subscription to keep it working. I told him I would write a check on Saturday and put it in the mail. He never did call back and I did not put my check in the mail because after he didn't call me back I felt like it was a scam. I even tried to call the number supposedly to be in Prescott, AZ I got a recording. No one answered the phone. It said I was supposed to leave a message and they would get back with me. It is now 1:35 p.m. my time and no one has called me back yet. Is this a scam?

My husband received a call like is described above.  My father's duck call sits on my husbands desk.  Said husband blew said duck call into the receiver.  We haven't heard from them again.

I'm going to buy one.  Use it against the next Indian or Pakistani scammer who calls me. Why didn't I think of that?

Foreigner with much noise in the background telling me I have a problem with my computer, something about DNS problems. We repeatedly told him we weren't interested & we would take care of problem & they wouldn't let it go. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

this number came to my home they did not leave a message; when I tried to find out who they were calling for by redialing the number, the number was out of service even though it was called back the same day. I do not want them calling me anymore.

Somehow this man got through my phone security to my answering machine, at 6:30 in the morning!.  Lots of noise in the background.  Kept saying 'hello' 'hello'. Of course we did not pick up. Curiously, nearly concurrently, my computer showed some sort of error, flashing 'the blue screen of death' and shut itself down.  This was after my husband opened a news report on Russians having a parade to show off one of their new tanks, and it stalled.  Coincidence?

I received an unsolicited "help" call from this # citing Windows problem that I was identified from my Windows license #.
I declined and he called back several times and said if I wanted to call him to ask for "Alex Cook" . Provided 623-234-1346 as number to call back. Since when would Microsoft be calling individual homes to proactively fix a problem with their software! Now I am worried that they have associated my computer with my home phone #.
