This phone number is associated with Globe Trade Control (it is a fax number). We receive many unsolicited phone calls at work and this seems to be just one more company fishing for in formation. I have not looked much at the website associated with the fax as I'm sure its rubbish. It offers to update our EXISTING data (I checked there is none). It offers a performance based score and also signs you up for a 97 Euro per year listing on their page. (According to the fax we are at 97% however on the page we are a sad three stars...) Just more wasted toner/paper on this end...

In general these companies calling to update your existing information are just trying to rope you into a scam. I went through the gamut with a “yellow book” representative, updated all the information and was then told it would be x amount of dollars a month to keep the internet listing accurate. I did not authorize the transaction and they still call several times a week to “update”.

Same as above---watch out for  "theyponline" "yponline" "direct usa online"  check your better business bureau listings, and search the web for posts like this one. since "globe trade control" is not listed on the bbb.org.  what's bogus is that you have 3 different fax numbers coming from 315.329.6021 (NY) 212.898.1249 (NY) and then 44.207.9002519 (UK).  The website is bogus - and our request ??? made in 2009 and our address is 5+ years old.

It's not 97 per year - it's a monthly registration fee of 97 per month for a minimumof 2 years, so a grand total of E2,328.  I just received one of their faxes - can't wait to sign up :).

They can not even put us on the right continent or right type of business on their requested update sheet.  The individual they list as the company contact has not worked here since December of 1984 and it is now June of 2010 if they were interested in keeping up to date that would have been changed long time ago.  voice phone they have listed for us is not our number and not even close to our number (wrong area code, wrong exchange and wrong number)  Address is not listed, year business started is not listed number of emplyees is over 199,965 over the number of employeess were ever in the company. We also have a very low employee turn over rate and they have our yearly employee turover rate as 500,395.  I have worked at the company 4 years and in that time we have had 1 person retire after 35 years with the company and 1 person leave for other reasons.  Therefore this has to be a SCAM!

Globe Trade Control is a scam.Simply, ignore it.

I received a fax from this company and it didnt have a fax removal process printed on it so I went to their website and SURPRISE! Its a pink page with two words - IT WORKS! - Yeah right it works. Their so lazy they cant even produce a web page that looks half way legit. Wow these low life scammers are getting really lazy with their scams!

eu tambem recebi em maio 2010 um fax , pensei que ao assinar  estaria  só  autorizar  que  os dados da minha empresa estavao correctos. qual o meu espanto quando me enviaram  uma cobrança no valor de 1164, 00 euros para eu pagar . Claro que nao vou pagar nada. ..

Just got a fax from them, the yearly rate is now 845 Euros!!! can't help but laugh..... Do they really have people buying their bull????

This is BS to be blunt...they send us an invoice everymonth threatening to take legal action for a so called contract and we owe them euros...I DON'T THINK SO....I'm so totally annoyed by this ....it is nothing more than a simple minded scam...losers

If they call they are scammers. If you want something you call and ask a reputable company not someone that can barely speak your language. I have numerous calls and stopped all faxes. Just blow a loud noise in their ear, you can tell they are calling....

Thanks for your messages - received one of the infamous Global Trade Control Fax's - in February (2011) of this year - luckily one of my staff did not fill this in and send back! Looks like a scam, feels like a scam but just typed the words Global Trade Control into search engine first result up - it is a scam - thanks we all need to keep updating on things like this!

Similar scams in the past had very small print showing everything was covered by the laws of Mexico, or Panama, or Chile etc. But the format is the same.  2 year contract - and it's a rolling contract, unless written notice is received by them 2 months before the end of subscription.  With no address or contact phone number, presumably difficult to prove that they ever received any notice. You could be with them for years!

I do wonder if anybody out there is stupid enough to fall for these scams.  The fact that the faxes still appear suggests they must do.  They play on fear (presumably, chasing and threatening faxes will appear cery quickly) but also a bit of laziness.  The message is read the small print and have a very healthy cycnicism for a company which will not even give an address or phone number.  If you just glance at it, it looks just like a confirmation letter, and legally speaking, it is not actually promising anything that it will not deliver.  Nor is it hiding the fees which will be charged.  So it is a scam, bt for anybody caught out by it, should also be a lesson learned.
