    Almost Scamed

I ended up googling the number and all returns came back that this person/company is a SCAM! Please read:

A Lady named "LYN" called my cell phone after I submited for a Modeling job online. She began "Hi my name is Lyn, did you recently sumbit for a catalog modeling opportunity?" I said, "yes, I submit to several a day. Which company or website are you?" She asked me was I by a computer and I told here yes but she never told me the websites name. She began to tell me for a price of $39.99 she could put me on her website and make me a star because this part of the year jobs are plentiful. She ask me (not even 1 minute into the call) "does that seem like something you would like to do? we accept debit and credit".... Then she asked again "does that sound like something your interested in?" I said "No, not yet. I would like to know more about the company before I pay anything" She readily replied, OKAY THANK YOU! and hung up in my face.

Same exact thing happened to me.  She hung up on me as well when I asked for a company name and more information.  Please tell me that people are not actually gullable enough to give her money without more information from her and that her scam does not really work.  I feel like calling her back and speaking my mind but I won't, what is the point she sure knows where that hang up button is.  How can a person live with themselves, doing things like this, ugh!

Just talked to Lyn, same story. She said she works for Petite Casting, and they have offices all over the world. A Google search revealed no information about the company, not evening the website she sent me to! When I asked for background on the company she had no idea, accused me off being one of her competitors, and hung up on me.

    I feel stupid
Same story as above. A lady left me a message first from the 212 number.  I called her back and she wasnt even polite, just asked me if I was by a computer.  I told her no and asked her who she was with and she just kept asking me if I was by a computer, over and over again!  So I said no but I would call her back when I was.  I just got home and called her ( as soon as I was by my laptop since I thought maybe she wanted me to look at their website or clothes) and she asked me if I had paypal or a debit card.  All the meanwhile she is still not giving me any information. So I said I wouldnt pay anything and she hung up on me very irritated.  I cant believe they are trying to scam people like this!

same thins happened to me today. Lyn called on my cellphone, saying I responded to a castingcall for a catalog.  I asked her yes but which one? She kept asking whether or not I was in front of a computer etc... I asked her her company name and she said "Castings".  I said, "uh-huh, your company name is CASTINGS??? And your wedsite is?" she asked "are you ready to sign up?" I said NO I'm not going to say whether or not I'm ready to sign up for something that I have no idea about." and she hung up. LOL!!

I then asked company name and she did not give it to me and kept talking about a website that I wasnt aloud to see until I payed. I then asked how am I supposed to know how the company works and see a client list before I pay and she said it is only 39 dollars and forget it you're too stupid and hung up on me.

Petite Casting: She is a real anus.  She called three times today to see if I was at my computer yet...  Funny, I am a male actor who is 6'0" and her big selling point is that she only takes short people.  In looking at her pitiful website under the mens section there were models who were 6'3" and built like body builders.  Also on all the mens pages notice how on each one she spells "Jacket" wrong..... it is spelled "Jachet"....what an [***].  Sorry to those she has called stupid and been rude to, do not let her discourage you!

My goodness. I just got a call from the lady. I told her I would call her back because I was about to hop on the train.  She put me on hold for way too long so I googled her number.  I thought it was weird that someone from the east coast would be up so late calling people.  Its the holidays. Everyone is suspect of a scamming.

This woman just called me asking for the 39.00 right off the bat - I asked her what company she was from and she replied, "Casting"..I said, "Casting Company?!?!" -- she said yes and told me to go to the website and click "Sign Up Now"...which automatically brought me to paypal..she told me to put in my email and password and I said, "No, I will not be paying you for anything!"...while I had her on the phone (I said that my computer was malfuctioning), I quickly googled her and came to this site...During that time she was asking me my height, I said between 5'4 and 5'5 and she said thats a perfect height for modeling (HELLO, WHO IS SHE KIDDING!) Upon quickly reading this site I said I was not interested and I quickly hung up on her..she proceeded to call me back THREE TIMES!..On the third time I picked up and she said "Hello, why did you hang up on me whats going on"..I said "I am no longer interested, this is a scam!", and she said "Oh you're such [***], you'll never go far in your career!" and hung up the phone. Please watch out for this crazy hag!!

    ARgh!
Wow, I love google! Exact same thing just happend to me 10 mins ago. She called me on the 212-920-7013 number and because of static called me on the 646-649-3772 and didn't introduce herself or anything.  We didn't even get as far as the 39.99. That I learned from you guys! Once again, I love google! She asked me if I was in front of a computer and I kept asking her the same thing, "who are you? and who are you calling with?" She was flustered by my persistence or resistence and finally caved and said, "you know what forget it". Since we are all in the business of sharing and it appears we are all "industry people" (aka modeling, acting, entertainment) I will say that I only responded to one posting this week for modeling, everything else was acting. That posting was found on craigslist for "Macy's Print Ad". Did anyone else respond to that? And I did include my number for that one. If it was the macy's print ad we should totally go on craigslist and put a halt to it.

    Gullible & stupid
So I recieved a call from this lady a few times. I am trying to start modeling and unfortunately I fell into this ladys stupid trap even though I think I honestly knew something wasnt right I was just hoping it was real.

So I paid the stupid $39 last night.. and after I hung up with her.. I felt really dumb and uncomfortable with the situation.. so this morning I put in the name and found this website :(

Does anyone know if it is possible to reverse this payment??????

    I feel soooo dumb!!

I am in the same boat. I ended up paying as well - knew I probably shouldn't have. Weird thing is she called me later telling me to rearrange the photos I submitted to put my best ones first.

The website does actually work (although you can tell someone just cobbled it together) and I am using it to link to other ads I reply to on craigslist.  I figured it couldn't be a scam because there aren't that many guys/girls listed on the site, but then I noticed that the basic site ust lists 3 pages of guys, but I had to "hack" my way in ... I am on page 14.

    Anyhow, lesson learned.
