- sam| 3 repliesCalled, no one there. I called back, # not in service. Blocked #.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Mary replies to sam| 2 repliesBetter to check here, rather than call back. The best thing to do is to check your caller ID... "3456" suffix is a dead giveaway... and keep your audible call screening feature turned on so you can listen in no matter where in the house you are sitting. You will hear the scammers hang up without leaving a message. Then validate your decision by coming here and seeing if there are other complaints. I wouldn't block the number, because they will only try to get under your radar again and again with new phished or spoofed numbers, like the whack-a-mole game. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't, as the Irish would say. You can recognize this number, so you will know not to pick up.
- onslowThis is the first time we have received a call from this number. Caller ID said name not found so I did not answer and they did not leave a message. Glad we have Caller ID.
- tiredJust got call from this number, no response when I answered.
- John| 1 replyThis is a scam caller that their ultimate aim is to get into your computer with the intent of installing a virus then claiming they need to remove it .... of course at a price. They will even have you check registers, before you let them in, to prove to you that there is something wrong. Do not let them in to your computer. Most of them sound like they are from India.
When they identify themselves as Windows technical support I would just hang up.- Caller: Windows Technical Support
- K ChidambaramSeveral calls
- Call type: Prank
- David| 1 replyAgain, it is a scam. Claims to be from the Windows Support. They are learning and adapting. They try to get you to access you computer on the premise that you already have a virus. They even hand you off to a supervisor if they get frustrated. Not too smart. All indian. Do NOT touch your computer under the direction.
- Dot| 5 repliesI received a call from this number on Saturday. The caller identified as a Microsoft Tech. Unfortunately....I was one of the very vulnerable ones who let them into my computer, as it had been acting strange. After he showed me why my Norton wasn't working properly, he showed me all of these error messages on my computer. Long story short......after I refused to give them any banking information or payment of $199.95, I politely told them to have a great day, hung up the phone and turned off my computer. When I turned it back on Sunday morning, it is totally locked up. There is "no administrator", and won't let me sign on to ANYTHING! Please don't be as stupid and naïve as I was! IT IS A SCAM.....AND A VERY COSTLY ONE FOR ME!
- Mike in VancouverI thought the number looked funny (3456) but I answered it anyway and just said "Hello". I was expecting a scam - and I was expecting the voice to sound like someone from India. We get these kinds of calls all the time. There was no answer, so I hung up after a few seconds.
I sure would like to be able to block calls like this. My phone company is Comcast; they allow you to block 12 phone numbers. I'm already up to 11. Still this won't do any good because the scammers seem to keep changing their virtual phone numbers. I used to get 1 or 2 calls every day telling me it was my "final notice" to lower my interest rates. How can you believe a person who lies to you right away by telling you it's a final notice - and then calls back the next day with another final notice.
I sure hope they find a way to block unwanted calls. - KatieI just received a call from this number - let it go to voicemail and i could hear someone speaking, but then they quickly hung up. Heavy foreign accented voice.
- Andy| 1 replyI've received multiple calls from 'Windows Support' and usually tell them I use Apple software and ask how they located me. Male and female reps, always sounding like an accent from the Indian Subcontinent. This time I worked it a bit:
Said his name was Steve Watson, Windows Tech Dept.,
Asked if he was from Microsoft, he said no, that they were an independent support company. Stated the name of the company was 'PC Repairs 24/7'.
Asked how he had information about my license, he said b/c I had registered it.
Ask him to repeat my license no., he provided a bogus one.
Asked where his office was based, said Jersey City, New Jersey.
When I asked why he was calling from a 213 area code (LA), he swore at me and hung up!- Caller: PC Repairs 24/7
- Call type: Telemarketer
- jrJust received call from Indian guy claiming to be with Windows. Says my computer is sending error messages and he needed to check it. Knew this was nothing but a scam and told him that. Hung up on him and will ignore any future calls.

- Steve BI got this call and had some fun with them ......... I played along for quite a while pretending to do all the things they were asking me to do to my computer. In the end the guy got so frustrated when he found out the truth, we got into quite the cussing match. It was hilarious!
- TomScam. Do not give them any information. They say they need to fix your computer but it is just a scam.
