Caller says my computer is sending error message and wants me to give him remote access to clear the issue.

I got the exact same thing. I refused to proceed without the caller identifying himself and his company, and demanded this information several times. He finally hung up when he realized I wasn't going to be fooled.

got a call from this number. the name said "Borton Petrini" ? no message left

I received a call from this number with and talked to someone identifying themselves as Jack.  He also said he worked for GPC Tech to  Identify and fix the problems in my computerfor windows with error messages.  HE also gave me the number 347-557-8428 . When I did a reverse check on this nuimber it is for someone in the Bronx, N. Y.  213 number is for Cal. number.347 number is for a private person not a business.

Whoever called from this number called after 9:30PM.  I did not answer and they did not leave a message.  Calls are not supposed to come in this late from any kind of business.

I got a call earlier and told the guy repeatedly to stop calling and finally had to hang up on him. He wanted access to my computer. That wasn't going to happen.

Just got a call at 10 pm with same scam about computer problems.  I asked him if he knew what time it was and then told him to never call again.

Just got a 10:00pm call. This was the same time another person who is complaining got a call from this number
talking about his computer problems.
Caller didn't leave a message for me after 3-rings,

Exact same caller name here with me.
He hung up after 3-rings; no message.

Our call was also from the same name "borton Petrini", after 9:30pm, spoke poor English & gave the same spiel as given to Don, (& was dumb enuff to repeat his request)... had to LOL tho, cause my husband is an IT guy, & I said here dear, this call is for you!!!!..... The "borton" character sure got an ear full.... ---the caller HUNG UP promptly.....

Got a call from these number At 9:00 pm Hawaii time I always let the calls go to recording if I don't no the number it was a woman and she kept repeating hello please pick up.. I wonder what kind of scam is these.

this number and these calls or a variation  of them have been coming in to my land line for over a year………. They usually say they are working for windows and have noticed an error or virus on my computer which their tech department wants to assist me in clearing up. They are men and women who speak very poor english and their grammar is very odd. Most times I just hang pup, occasionally i have played along pretending to do as the request , asking silly questions and leading them on as far s i can…….my usual ending line is " now is this the big screen that i watch honey boo boo on…….LOL. Ya just gotta keep a sense of humor and not give them any info. It's  variation  on the Nigerian bank scam…they want access to your info.

I received a call from this number this motning.  Caller id said "borton petrini".  I answered and the guy on the phone with a thick accent asked about my free pain cream and needed my insurance information.  He got irritated and began yelling at me when i started to ask him questions.

The phone number (213) 213-1233 appears to originate from somewhere in Los Angeles. A guy with a foreign accent calls me frequently and asks me to turn on my computer. He claims to be concerned that there might be viruses on my computer, which of course is none of his business. I think these people prey on folks who don't know much about computers so they can obtain personal information and engage in identity fraud.. Do not give these people any personal information! Just hang up when they call.

Sounded like he said he was calling from Windows because my computer is sending out error messages.  
I asked him how he was going to try to get money out of me and what scam he was running.  He hung up.

Received this call at 2:34pm Texas time from the 213-213-1233 Los Angeles, CA number. Went to voicemail, but no message was left. Did a reverse search on the number and read all the reports. Thank you all for sharing your info.

I got the same call a few months back and the guy with the thick accent said that my computer was sending error codes. I asked him "which computer was this?" And he said "the windows computer" so I told him "I have 5 windows computers. Could you tell me which one you're getting error codes from?" And he hung up. The audacity of some people...

This number called me and claimed to have selected me for a few thousand dollar free grant. Told me to call this number: 202-697-9601 and give them this "code": RB299. I have no idea what it's all about, but I'm obviously not calling.

*For me the caller was a woman with a thick accent (possibly Indian)

Got the same thing they called me saying i had been chosen for 9k in grants. clearly i knew it was a scam but wanted to see what all they would tell me so i called gave them my supposed confirmation. They guy then told me i was recieveing this as a once in a life time for being a American citizen. What i found funny was that i the person i spoke was not even american. Then he goes on to say i would be wired my money but before i get it i have to wire money to make sure that i am who i say i am. Dont get suckered in people.
