One second of a garbled sound is all that came to my phone. This happened 3 times.

didn't recognize the number so i let my answering machine pick it up.  heard some intercom voice in the background.

They have called several times but when you answer, they don't respond

Some contractor people who won't leave you alone.  [***] em!!!

They called and asked for my husband. They wouldn't ID themselves and hung up when I said he wasn't available.  They don't answer their phone when you call THEM back.

I answer with my name and I get silence. Why?  I'm being demon dialed and I pick up the phone and speak faster than their equipment can handle it.

Very rude woman from "The Home Center" looking to do any and all remodeling and renovation at my house. They claim to have an office 'near me' but when I ask for the address, the woman got very defensive, refused to give me an address, a phone number, or her name. She accused me of harassing HER!

LOL!  Good, harass her more, maybe they'll give up!

They keep calling my elderly parents and would hang up on them.  Absolutely rude and annoying people!

I have been getting calls from this number for over a month, and when I say "hello", they never respond, even if I say hello two or three times. Why do they call me, if they have nothing to say?

I picked up the phone + received only silence, then a hang-up.

They always wake me up, So I call when I'm up, midnight on Saturdays, 20 rings and no answer, good, I hope they sleep soundly as I 'misplace' their truck.

Seriously, they just want to find out when you are not home.
If my phone always rings and rings at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays
then they know when I'm regularly not home.
They hope no neighbor will notice if a yard service truck parks out front.
They hope no neighbor will notice a contractor van backed into my driveway.
But I'll wake up when they shut off the electricity and water to rip out my copper pipes and wiring.
Do they really need my TV and VCR in the van for a remodel?
I suspect they are thieves searching for an opportunity and an unlocked back door.

I also tried to call them back and no answer.  By any chance was anyone here able to block them from calling you?

Here are some options:  If you have Verizon: You can set up a block from this phone number at $5/month fee so when they call you, they just get a recording.  Verizon said to call the police, explain the situation then they give you a "case number" and they will investigate.  Also Verizon said to call them with the "case number" and ask for their Security Dept and they will investigate as well.

keep calling, they leave no message;with caller ID I will never pick up!  Still annoying since they call repeatedly

Got a call from this number, I did not answer right away, but called the number back. A lady answered and Told them that I was returning their call. She asked me my last name, and then transferred me to someone else. The guy asked me who I was, so I asked him who he was. He became very rude. Saying that they were contractors, wanting to know if I needed any repairs done around the house. I told him that I was a contractor myself, and did all my own repairs. Then he got rather rude again. Nice people! like someone would want them to do work on their homes with that kind of attitude!!! Fly by night people!!!
 Sounds like a scam to me..
