Michael Smithfield called, broken English, from the Dept of Legal Affairs, to tell me about a legal action taken on my behalf, and to call him back or my attorney to call back to avoid a legal mess.  SpAM

just got 2 calls in a row from this number.  first time they didnt leave a message.  2nd time left a msg they was barely understandable at all..something about calling from the dept of legal affairs, etc, etc...long story short SPAM!

I reported them to the FTC - Fed Trade Comm. 877-382-4357.  They investigate and press charges as appropriate.  Put your tax $ to work!  The number  is out of LA but could be out of country - just as likely.  These guys are RUDE!  Said they were IRS. LMAO.

I received the same two calls from this number today. I filed a report with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

I just got a call from this number and toll me that I haven't paid $5000 my tax in 2011 and 2012. It is funny because in 2011 and 2012 I was living back home and I came to US 2013. I was really really shocked. I called 911 and they given me IRS number. So stupid.

Received two calls in a row from this number they said they were from the Treasury Dept. and that my name was on a list, foreign (middle east ) accent, imagine that!  They were rude and insistent, that I was going to be arrested.  They need there ass kicked! Or maybe a million call back to them  to go pound sand in there little sand box back in the middle east where they like to kill each other.

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I got 2 calls yesterday from this number and said they are from the Treasury Dept. they asked about my tax return. their voice accent  look like Indian people.  I am going to complain to FBI and  Federal Trade Commission.

Received two phone calls where messages were left on voice mail, barely able to understand person due to foreign language.  Said they were from Treasury Department and needed me to call them back.  On second call, said if I or my attorney did not call them back within the hour, action would be taken against me at my home.  To me this is a threat.  I am going to report this as Taminath suggests and get a blocker.  Caller was rude and angry you could tell as I had not responded

Received the same two messages today. Looks like I'm not the only one who was a skeptic!

Recieved a message saying they were from the US Treasury and they needed to speak with me on an important matter, I called back and left a message. When he called back he spoke broken english and said that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against my name and that I owed over $3,600 from the years 2009-2011. I told him there had to some mistake as i stopped working in 2009 when I had our last child and have been a stay at home mom since. He got very upset that i didn't seem to be grasping what he was trying to tell me. He said i needed to go to Walgreens and get a reloadable card and he would walk me through it, I needed to pay $400 to take my name out of his system and send me my paperwork. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me they were help some else and that he was law enforment officer and i had to deal with him. I got very angery and demanded he put me on with his suppervisor, he then threatened that if i did not deal with this now he would show up at my house have me served and then arrest me! I called the Sherriffs Dept. and they said do not give out any personal info this is a scam, and they use fear of being sued and/or arrested as a way to get money, they usually target older people.
