I have been getting calls from this number telling me i have to have 10000.00 or my whole family will go to jail. they say i owe money to cashnet i have never used this place ever.

This guy named Kevin Peterson called from a local cell phone number which is 918-938-5997 US Cellular, to my place of employment said the call was a legal issue and gave a the above phone (which is in Los Angeles) as a return call number!!! Really, really? Come on how stupid do they think we all are...For one thing I have never been in L.A. and why would they call from a local (Tulsa, OK cell phone).If anyone gets a call from this number do not give them any, none, zero, nada information!!!! It is a scam!!!

I got this call a few months ago from some guy saying he has a legal matter against me and they're trying to sue me. Then I just got another call today from the same guy saying he has to verify my address so he can serve me. I know they're full of [***] so I gave him my address and told him to bring me the papers, then he says no we can work this out. No if you're going to serve me or sue me do it and get it over with. First off, he won't even tell me what I'm being sued for. Is there any way I can make this stop? This is harassment and I'm not taking these threats lightly.

I have also been receiving phone calls from this company saying I owe a company named cashnet.  They took 300.00 out of my account yesterday and another 5.79 today.  On the transactions, they are showing up in many different names but they are from India.  I called my State Attorney General Office and they are looking into this but they have been doing this everywhere.  I plan on contacting the Los Angeles Police Department today.  They are also using a local number to call me as well as the 213-261-7624.  Will update later.

I got a call from a local number 843-904-1999 but they left a message with the number 213-261-7624. They claim it would be in my best interest to call them back because of a legal matter. The man gave a very common american name but it was clear that he is of Indian descent. I know that I don't owe anyone so i am going to ignore them.

Ignore them it's a scam. They are affiliates with the scam ACS- American Credit Solutions

FYI the number they called me from was 302-894-4997....Called this number back it was "Magic Jack.

Just got a call from this number, the guy said his name was James Parker from the US Government and it is an emergency that the person call him back as soon as possible.

So did we.  Complete scam.

I got a call from a Kevin Peterson and could barely understand him.  He called from 402-404-6998 yet i was to call back immediately at 213-261-7624 they call my home phone and work continually.  I have had my attorney call them and they hang up and call nasty names.   total SCAM!

The guy spoke with gave me a case number and an address for them.  I looked up the address was for a technical school. I guess I will wait Monday for them to show up. They wanted to speak to my manager, like that was going to happen. Crazy! I did not have a pay day loan with this company. I will call them on Monday asking where they are.

This person called my work & said it was an emergency

I received a call from the same number also claiming that I owe money from a payday loan company  and  know I never took out a loan.  Initally the call came from a 206 567-3943.  I called the number back and it gives me a wierd message saying "welcome to Magic Talk and to give them the Magic Talk number." When  I asked them for  their address the caller refused to give me the information. He said he was not authorized to give out that information but then a few seconds later rattled off an address but was unwilling to repeat himself because he purposely said the information to fast.  He along with another caller are from Indian descent and are very rude!

I thought this was a scam and after reading the comments I see that it is.  I may retain an  attorney to deal with this matter because I don't want them calling me and I have no intentions  of paying them!

I am getting calls at my place of employment from a James Parker stating that I owe someone some funds and I need to pay as soon as possible or legal actions will be taken against me. He spoke to my Manager regarding my personal matters. He will not send me any documentation but wants me to fax him a statement that I will agree to pay the account to freeze the pending law suit. He told me I could use a debit card or western union him the funds but he would not give me the information via fax nor email. He called me several times in a matter of minutes, demanding that it is urgent and needs to be dealt with as soon as possible

I keep getting these calls from these clowns.  They keep telling me that there is a lawsuit against me.  I ask them for the court that they filed the suit in and the docket number.  They refuse to give that information.  I ask for a copy of the supposed "lawsuit".  They tell me they can't give me that information.  I explained to them that they are violating my legal rights.  They keep calling me at work which is a federal agency.  I've asked them to stop calling me at work and they continue.  I'm contacting the California Attorney Generals office and the Consumer Protection Agency.  I'm actually considering filing a harassment suit against them.  Maybe give Immigration a call and let them know where they're at.

I too received different calls; one on my home phone, and another to my cell phone from an Alhambra, CA location. Cheked the number with Google maps, and it is in a residential neighborhood. With both calls, it was the same person with the same Indian or mid-eastern accent, requesting that myself or my attorney contact them immediately. I am sure it is a scam. If someone was trying to collect money, they should first read the FTC laws,

Received a call from a "Justin Parker" who said to call (213) 261-7624.  He had an indian accent.  Said a loan was taken with a particular bank, and he gave me the name of the bank.  I've never taken a loan out with such bank.  I did not provide them with any info.  I WILL REPORT THEM TO EVERY AGENCY possible to stop these scammers from harassing innocent individuals.  Every person that receives a call from them, please report to CPA, FTC, California General Attorney's office, or any agency that deals with these calls.

I got a call from these scammers not so long ago... I waited and waited and then they called back a week ago. I was like, what ever happened to "this call may be monitored or recorded for quality and training purposes"? I kind of got to me. Dude was "james parker" who the f*** has an acsent with a name like that? Anyways, he said I had no choice but to pay even if I didn't take the loan that they so call said I took and that they're sueing me, I said io go to court and counter sue plus file for identity theft. Dude said he will give me a call back so that he can talk to his superior about helping me not pay anything. I was like, you just said I had to pay no matter what.... Then i thought, google the name and phone number. Everyone that had made this post before me, I want to thank you.... Because you saved me from losing my funds. Thank you so much.
