Several years ago we got a payday loan. We paid it off after the scheduled date. We starting having Lamont Fields or Darrion Smith from Becket Mccormick and scmdt a law office in Georgia. But we no longer owe any money. It they won't stop harrising us. They keep threatening to have us arrested.  Is this a scam. Really what can I do

Just received a call from this person looking for somebody else and new my first and my middle name which was weird .

This number called my ex step mother looking for me and I have never used her number for any type of reference ever in fact I don't even know her number. I am not sure what they want but I think it's fraud

A lady from the number 213-282-5200 just called me and she ask me how things where going,I said fine ...I then ask her for a address so I could have a litter sent over and then she ask me for what. I said ok so your not going to give me a address then...Your a scammer then and hung up on her. the call showed Los Angeles CA.

They've changed caller names...........It's now a Hubert J Levy.  Same M.O. and threatening.  Leaves messages and says they are from the "Legal Department".  It's a huge scam and they have different people call if they the first person doesn't get an answer from you.

We received a voicemail from one Hubert J. Levy. He said he was from "The Investigations department". Did not give a name for the company he is working for or identify a name for the company for which he was investigating. He said, "It's a shame we did not reach you." "There are some things we need to discuss." We are a child care center and do not owe money to anyone, so this call is completely bogus. We're adding the number to the do not call list and will report it to any and every entity we can.

Rcvd a voicemail from this number. The caller identified themselves as hubert j. Levy from the "investigations department." they did not identify a company or agency they were calling from.  I do not have any bills in collection and have never even gotten a parking ticket. Its a scam!!!

I just got my second call and they did leave "Hubert" as the name. My first call came last week - the person did not leave a name, just a number, and it was different from the 213-282-5200 number. Unreal!

Received EXACTLY the same message.  Legitimate companies with legitimate business have no problem clearly identifying themselves. Using the words "investigations department" is an obvious hook to cause concern in someone to call.

A message was left on my phone. The caller identified himself as Hubert Jay Leavy from The Investigations Department. Unfortunately,  we have a matter that may concern you.  I never called Hubert Jay Leavy back because he did not say the name of his business.  The true sign of a scam artist.

They say they are from a law firm concerning a pay day loan. I am sure I have paid all my loans off. They said they will be in the area for court if I do not make payment arraignments.

I received same call as other from this phone number, but on my caller ID it showed, Washington, DC phone # 202-792-3776. On my recorder same as others man said Hubert J. Levy, sorry I missed you, have something to discuss from the investigation dept so please call me back at the 213 phone #, well I lived in L.A. and know 213 is their area code, yet caller ID said Washington DC with above phone #.  I am sick of these type phone calls and we pay for our phone service yet we have to get up from dinner, bed or where ever to see who is calling and this mess of scams got to be stopped.  Tomorrow I myself am calling the 202-792-3776 number and see who answers, then I report them to Attorney General in Texas.

A Ms. Emily Stein called from the law offices of Beckly McCormitt and Schmidt, investigations dept. Said I needed to call immediately before "it" is processed in Arapahoe County. What is "it"? Scam call for sure. Called the number back, no answer.

While working on the switchboard at my CPA firm, 2 lines rang simultaneously with the sme caller ID - "Los Angeles"; When I answered there was no one on the line and I put them on hold to answer the other line.  Again - no one on the other end so I hung up and picked up the first line - Hubert J. Levy was laving a message but it was obviously pre-recorded because when I kep saying "Hello?Hello?" there was no live person.  His message was the same as above - from the Investigation Department, it is unfortunate we didn't reach you, etc etc

We received the same exact message today on our home line.  We just received this phone number and have not given this number out to anyone.  We do not owe anyone we have not paid.  We will not be calling the number back.  Thanks for all the posts, as these are helpful to others like me.

I receive this message at least once a month...I googled the phone number and it is at a house in Los Angeles.  Google Earth showed a rundown house with man in front watering grass w/ hose.   Such a scam

That's the message I just received. I have had legal issues due to a medical injury and I KNOW that the message ALWAYS has a name, claim/acct number, and phone number. He was so vague, I immediately looked up the number. Get a real good and quit trying to steal my money!!!!
