I didn't answer the phone when I didn't recognize the number. The message was in regards to a position I applied to (a company located in Boca Raton, Florida) and gave me a ref # to use when I call back. An internet search shows it's in LA.
I received a call stating that they were from Wachovia, because i don't trust 213 numbers, i called wachovia directly with the job ref number that was listed. As i suspected they had no knowledge of it. they also do not have a HR office for hiring in LA. The manager was going to look into this form their standpoint to see what could be done. I would trust any of these numbers
I recieved a professional looking e-mail about a TJ Max corporate position that had nothing to do with my background and was not listed on the company website. I went ahead an applied cautiously. Then I recieved a follow up e-mail, which I decided not to respond to any of the questions. Then this guy called and left a message about the position and an extension. I called back and it seems bogus since automated answering service and no live person.
Received a call as well, got through right away but hung up because they asked for my phone number first. I called back because I thought it might be a background agency since I applied to some jobs, but can't get through-only a lady with a bad english accent...
I missed a call on my cell from 213-325-3204 and tried to google Employment Select with Jason Marks went to web site said affliated with Career Networks. No contact info just email. A company that is honest would have a contact phone number. Do not give out any info, any company that would not give you info (they told me I had applied for an adminstrative assistant on 04/13/08 and I did not fill out anything yesterday. So I was suspicious. Someone named Ty was the person on the phone who started asking me personal info, I said before I give you info I need to know the company I filled out application for; Career Buidler needs to screen the info they give out hopefully none on my info was given to these people if I need to join with other people for a class action lawsuit I will if you don't recognize the number or person don't give out your info!!
I just got the same phone call and its a day after I applied for a position with an email I got from Career builders. I was so reluctant to put my info in there and now I never will again!!!
I recieved the same call from the same number on my cell. I did not know the number so I did not answer. I had applied for a position on Career Builders and I then in return get an e-mail back from this Douglas Thompson guy who says he is in HR. I also tried to google Employment Select and got nothing. No contact info at all just an e-mail. I hope that Career Builder did not give my info out to anyone. I am willing to join you in a class action lawsuit. Career Builder needs to have better people screening job postings and making sure they are actually a working job.
I just got a call from Ty from this exact number. Since I am at work and unable to talk, I asked for the number to call him back. He didnt want to give it to me and then hung up. I googled the number and saw your posting and now I know for sure it was a scam! Thanks.
I just received a call from this number about an hour ago and I am also on the job hunt and have used Career Builders so I am sure that our numbers are being distributed to some weirdos. I did not try to call back but checked the short voicemail that was left and all it was just an automated voice saying "Representative."
I also just received a message from them, It was automated, told me that it had something to do with a job I applied for. They had me on hold for a while and told me a representative would be with me shortly. Eventually I got disconnected. Went immediately on-line because it appeared suspicious and see all of your comments. Has anyone had any problems with long distance charges on your phone? The first thing I thought of was that they were tapping into my land line. I sure hope that careerbuilder is not involved in this!
Called, left no message. I called the number back and the recording said human resourses, all representatives are busy, please hold. I was then transferred to a recording giving out hours of operation. The lady in the recording had a very bad imitation English accent. I do have my resume out on the WEB so I am assuming that my number was found by this telemarketer attempting to sell me a load of crap.
I got a call that from this number and didn't answer it. They left no message and I been getting that recording all day. I did apply for a job through a third party website for TJMax & sister co. I can't get through to find out details, so I will wait to see if they call again. Thanks for everyones notes on this number.
Finally got in touch with these folks. It turns out that they are supposed to be a third party verification service that companies use to verify information people put on their reseme. Whether or not this is the case or not I don't know. They did reference a company to which I did apply in the past.
someone called to say they wanted to verify my employment for a positon that I applied for. I told the person identified as Ty that I would call right back. He gave me a ref# When I did try to call back I was told that "all circuits were busy" I called back again and got through only to listen to musak for 10 min and then nothing. I finally hung up the phone. I tried calling back and still received that all circuits were busy.
I received a voice mail from a "Julie" at this company saying that my resume from the web was a good candidate for a job. I was asked to call her back. She did leave a number and her name. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get through to her. The lines have been busy.
