- Jesse replies to nudgie| 2 repliesI got a call from them today and when I told them I had no clue what this matter was about they became very angry. I asked for validation of this debt and they could not provide me with anything they gave me a 1-888-870-4030 number to call so I did. I got a voice box that was full? Sad thing is they had the last four of my social and my banking financial institution. The person's name was Miss Jones they never gave me a full name.
- Jesse replies to Jesse| 1 replyThey too also threaten me with a lawsuit and they said they had been sending collection notices to my address which I had not lived in since 2007. They told me that that was from 2009 but yet they could not validate any information because it was a law firm. I'm not too sure on this but I am sure that a collection agency/law firm has to provide you a validation of debt.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/financial-solutions-of-california-signal-hill - MandyThey called me and threatened me with a law suit with punitive damages if I didn't pay right away. When I asked for something in writing they said that's not how they do things!! They also had my brother and sisters names. They had my ex-husbands ex wife's name telling me I used her as a primary reference for a loan, which we have never got along and have only exchanged maybe 3 words in 18 years!!! Why would I use my ex husbands ex wife as a personal reference??? Then they instructed me to press charges against my ex husband for me being a victim of fraud!!! They have been calling me for two months now and from four different exchanges( states)?? I questioned them about this and they denied any connection with the other calls from the different numbers!! I told them I'm going to the police and they still insisted that they were legit!! I have no idea what this is all about and I'm contacting the FTC and the Attorney's Generals office! After I go to my local police station to report this!!

- LynnMiss Hogan was highly aggressive, rude and intimidating. She was attempting to collect a debt I'm currently already paying on through another agency (that is legitimate). She wouldn't give me her company name or address. She used big words that didn't mean what she thought they meant. She was personally insulting, threatening and would not stop calling. She belittled me and would not let me get a word in edgewise. REPORT THESE PEOPLE TO YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE BBB. I called the police in my area and when they called this "company" back and identified themselves as the police the "debt collectors" quickly hung up.
- StaceyI received a call from this number yesterday. A man called saying he was from Financial Legal Services and wanted to collect a debt for 2,000. I've recently checked me credit so I know no such thing is on my report. I hung up right away blocked the number. Later that day I get a text from my brother saying he was contacted by someone saying I owed 2,000.
I looked online and saw that numerous complaints have been made about this scam. I called the number this morning to inform them I knew about their scam, needless to say the lady over the phone was rude and argued with me.
Keep in mind an actual debt collector will not contact your family member and will not disclose the details of their call. I find this to be such an awful thing to do to people. I hope this helps someone who receives a call from these people.- Caller: Financial Legal Services

- CWG40Several debt collection/scammer groups are using acronyms such as AFS or FLS or some combination as CIDs. They won't give you an address if you call them. They gave me Account Financial Services when I called them.

In any event the people calling are serious debt scammers who use any combination of absurd threats in order to collect money.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they are bothering you,
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening criminal prosecution to collect a civil debt is a clear violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act)
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.- Caller: Informational post
