Received call from someone with a heavy foreign accent saying he was from the Treasury Dept.  saying that he needs to discuss an important issue and for me to call back. Needless to say I will not be calling back since this has SCAM written all over it.  The United States Treasury Department does not call people to resolve issues.

I also received a message from a person claiming to be with the US Treasury Dept, even gave a badge number and said major legal matters were in process, but would not give out any more information.....but had me and my family member names.

Also, received a call from this number from person with heavy accent. Used threating tactics that if he did not receive a call back major legal matters would begin. SCAM

Heavy accent. Told me he was U.S. Treasury Dept. Wouldn't tell me what it was about. Asked for my husband.

My story is the same as above.  A man with a heavy accent stated he was from the Treasury Department and legal matters were in process and we were to contact an attorney.  Left a threatening message if his call wasn't returned immediately.

Received a phone call from this person claiming to be from the Dept of Treasury and threatening to have me arrested.  Scam call.  Also the caller had a heavy foreign accent and kept repeating he was trying to help.  When I insisted that I would have received something thru the mail, he stated he'd have me arrested and thrown in jail at this point.  I told him I heard of these scam calls and he hung up.

It is NOT legal.  The caller is faking the number & is in India or Pakistan.  Please read BigA's message above yours.

This same thing happened to me.  Caller asked for one of my sons by name and made the same absurd threats.  None of my sons live with me,  they are grown and on their own.  Caller had a very HEAVY middle eastern accent and came up on the caller ID as " Sha  Abdelwahhab " but said his name was William Rogers LOL!!!!!  I never answer phone calls I don't recognize.  Just wish a large hole would open up and swallow these scamming idiots

Got the same call, sounds like the same guy (heavy accent) claimed to be Mark Hanson. The number appears to be a land line in Los Angeles. Has anyone done a reverse phone # lookup? I tried some free ones, but no details other than city and appears to be a landline vs. mobile. Would be curious to see if someone could get an address then maybe we can call him and give him HIS info and say we are calling the authorities. Would be funny to get his reaction.

Voice was a very slow, stilted, thick middle eastern accent.
