Caller ID: "Not Available" for name and "11-213-525-6872" for number. Can't show your name? You are hiding. What legitimate number starts with 11? A crook, scammer, jerk, telemarketer..take your pick. Not a safe #. Of course I didn't answer. I'm "Not Available"!

Received call at 6:30AM No message left on answering machine. Very annoying.

Scam artist claiming to be with "technical support for the Windows update system."  I let him go on for about 30 seconds, and then said, "Listen, stupid, I've been in the industry since 1982, and scam artists like you aren't bright enough to even say the words 'Windows support' properly."

Yep. That's what caller ID listed as the name. Doesn't make sense.

"Hello, my name is Mark. I am calling about your computer ..."

The usual windows problem, told him child has computer at school, not! He kept talking, I asked if there was anyone who spoke English available, click.

Telemarketing scams are the new email spams. Same criminals, same scam, different day and year.

We had a nice conversation with the dude....Told him we knew our computer was in "veeerrry baad shape" (wag your finger side to side like Baboo) and that we could smell curry emitting from the speakers.  We were disappointed it wasn't his cousin from the "US Treasury Dept."

YADA-YA:  They are not in California, they are in India spoofing a number in California.

Yep, just did the same thing, they called me claiming that my computer is infected - let them waffle for a bit for my own amusement and then shut them down telling them they are scammers.

Caller told me he was also from Windows, wanted access to my computer...told me it was infected, needed access...foreign accent with lots of noise in the background...has called me lots over the last year...can't make them go away...

Get ma an address and I will go break their kneecaps.
