He had my SS# , claimed that I was being investigated for fraud.  Spoke very broken english.  I believe I have received a call from him before, about the same time last year.

I'm fairly certain I've heard from this a$$hole before.  Very broken English, very belligerent, always uses the same bizarre wording about how I'm being sued for something and "bad events will unfold upon me."  I wish I knew how to stop it, but barring that I've just been calling THEM incessantly and playing really loud metal music into the phone.

I too have received this phone call about some kind of fraud and my assets being frozen, etc. Same broken english, tells me he is from states attorneys office.  He had called from a los angeles number this time, last time it was a beverly hills phone number. I did my own checking with CA states attorney office and the CA district Attorney's office and both have no record of a John Hopkins working for them. He is clearly of middle eastern descent so the John Hopkins was the first tip off. I also put in a complaint to CT state attorney generals office for the other phone number that this person uses.  When he called the last time, I asked what this was in reference to and he told me to call back in 30min to the phone number he called from and I would be given details!  If you call me and tell me that there is fraud against me, then you best have all the information available to me!!!  I will call CT State Attorney General's office again in the morning to report this number. This is complete harrassment and annoying.  FTC should be able to shut them down!  This person has been arrested as recent as April 2012 for bilking people out of millions of dollars because they threaten the people!  This has got to stop!

Got a call @ work about an hour ago, was told by the guy (who spoke horrid English) to call this number back and the rep (William Black) would tell me about what the legal complaint being filed against me was. First off, no one should be able to call at your place of business, regardless what the reason is.
Secondly, when I called back, they said they had all my information including my SSN, DOB, and most recently created email address, and it was in regard to a payday loan I supposedly took out in July 2012. I haven't done this, I don't know where they got my personal information but I told them I didn't take out a payday loan and they said that was fine and they would now forward this report to my local sheriff and hope I have a good lawyer to fight this in court. I got a similar call about 3 years ago from a similar company in California stating I had legal actions being taken against me and after 2 days of them calling me at work and cellphone I finally reported them to every agency between here and Canada and never heard from them again until today.
Something like this should not be allowed and no one should have that much personal information on your when the claim is false.
Where is the Privacy Acts when you need them.
I am now in process of contacting the company they state the claim is with and filing grievance/complaints with every agency yet again.
Ugh.

This across the water A**hole has been calling my cell like the rest of you guys. Son of a female dog broke the law, and the rule by calling my job today...IT IS ON!!!!! I feel a lawsuit coming on....First of all he's going by the name of "Deputy Jacob w/Central Investigation Dept. of Law Enforcement...use threatening, scare tactics, that does not work with me...I know this may sound harsh and cruel...but I told him he should have died in his momma's womb...He pissed me off with some of the crap he was saying.....Then he would call and breathe heavy in the phone..PERVERT!!!!! I will be investigating and researching for a way to shut him, the company he's supposed to be representing, and any one else affiliated with this Jerk...

I too was called by this person today saying I had a complaint against me and I needed to turn myself into the local state police. He said he was from the local state police but calling from a California number.  Well I got news for him I work for the department of defense navel division so I will be reporting him to the N.I.C. that's the Navel Intelligence Center so I think a long prison sentence will be involved if they catch him. Don't mess with the government.

I received a phone call from this number on 10-5-12 from someone that tried to get me to confirm my address, bank account information, SSN, etc. and then transferred me to their supervisor.  His name is Shawn Davis and said he was calling from U.S. Cash Advance.  He spoke very broken English!!!  He claimed there was a complaint against me from a payday loan I supposedly took out in July (which I did NOT) and that I owed $300 on the loan and almost $480 total that includes interest.  He said they tried to take the money out of my bank account and it was declined!!!  I am in the process of closing that account... keeping the bare minimum in it until I can get to another bank.  Then today, I received a phone call from 609-318-3142 who claimed he was from a legal department with American Cash Advance and that there was a lawsuit against me for $300 and that he was calling to try and resolve the issue.  I did not catch his name - couldn't understand him either... very broken English!!!  I turned the tables and started asking him questions... for starters... now the company is American Cash Advance and last Friday is U.S. Cash Advance... I asked if it was the same company and he said yes.  I told him that I have done some investigation and found out that this company were fraudulent debt collectors and that I had contacted the FTC, FBI, CIA and BBB (I haven't ... but it seemed to shut him up... he hung up on me).  So, if he calls back I plan to find out more information.  BUT, I am definitely going to close my bank account.  If he had enough information to call my phone and know my home address and probably my SSN, I would imagine he has my bank account information.  Can't figure out why or how... but I'm taking the offensive on this!!!

i received a phone call from this number today at my work,spoke very rude.i have recived a call from him before,about the same last year.his name is sheen watson...........he has my information SSn,my address and my new phone number,because i change one month ago. i make police report ......i see you in jail for fraud....sheen watson or what ever name used.

I had the exact same phone call today!! They had my date of birth, my Ssn and the last 4 of my bank account number. I have put a fraud alert on my information so if they try to anything with my info they can't. I work for a local sheriff's department and I know I dont have any loans that are unpaid. This is just ridiculous and as far as I know there is nothing that can be done to these ppl. Just take proper percausions and watch your bank accounts and protect yourself by putting a fraud alert on your info. You can go to www.transunion.com to do this and it will let other credit companies know you have done this.

Had a call today from someone in LA.  Ask for another person who had this number before us.  I told him to remove our number from their calling list.  He said he couldn't.  I said with all this technology,  you CAN remove our number since the person  you ask for no longer has this number.   Well, he said I can do it IF you send us money.   I said you are nuts, no way am I sending you any money and hung up.

Now how can we get these types of calls to stop?  I've had about around 20 calls in two weeks from companies asking for the person who had our number prior to Oct. 28, 2011.  Evidently she was a deadbeat and owed everyone in the country as most of them have been collection  agencies. But the other day one came for her and to tell her she was qualified for the loan. Should just let the phone ring I guess when I see on Caller I.D. that it is from out of state or a private number.

I recieved a call from 609-318-3142 today as well. A Mr. Stark gave me my social security number and stated i was being investigated. Asked for my lawyers number and name. Became very irrate with me when I asked what i was being investigated for and stated " don't ever interupt me again" So I continued to interupt him. He then stated he would contact my local sherrif's department to have them come and arrest me. To witch I stated do what you have to do, he then hung up on me. Went straight to the federal trade commission's website www.ftc.gov and filed a report with them. I urge you all to do the same.
