Cold calls wanting to know if we want any painting done.  I don't think so.  Most likely some fishing project.

Called yesterday - just saw their call.  These calls are always scams - don't answer!
We have had all 818 555 numbers blocked for some time.
555 is not a legitimate public phone number.

Now they decided to bug me too.  It rang and went to voicemail...and it seemed like they were going to leave a message...but there was just silence and then they hung up.

This number has called 7-8 times and just hung up

received a call from 213-555-4433 today 1/12/16 at 11:34am, they left no message on my answering machine and caller id showed unknown.  If someone is calling you would think they want to speak with you, and if you are not there they would leave a message.

Called again on 1/12/16 - I just saw that they called.  BLOCKED from their first call.
Our phones do not ring when these criminals call.  It's often days before I see that a blocked call has come in.
We have at least 260 area codes blocked thanks to our D*gitone call blocker (Amazon).
Everyone has an answering machine - why not consider a call blocking device?  Have friends or family in a blocked area code?  Simply "invite" their number into your blocker - problem solved.  They can call right through.

Called 1/19/16 leaves no message

No message. Just hangs up.

Clearly spoofed number.  9:36 am 1-19-16.  Preceded only 20 minutes prior by another spoofed number call, 310-555-1876.  Idiotic.
I'm guessing that No mo probably already blocks it since there is no real number with a 555 prefix, but I was out so I can't be 100% sure.

Wasn't here but they left no message.  They are now BLOCKED.

Another call today at 11:20 am. Out again so can't be certain if No mo blocked it or not.

2/23/16 PST  Called just now , no ID and no msg.  First experience with this particular number, but don't much care.  Don't answer phone unless there is a known ID and/or number.

Missed the call; no message was left.

The prefix "555" is used principally for tel-com internal calls.
At one time you could dial any area code in the USA and then 555-1212 for information.
The bottom line is that this IS a scam number and ANY number beginning with the prefix 555 is 99.99% a scam.
Don't answer these calls and NEVER call scam numbers back.
We have ALL 555 exchanges blocked forever.

Called while I was on the phone.  On my call log.  Number is an obvious fake.  SCAMMER.

Incoming numbers of these forms are always bogus:

DDD-0DD-DDD    (where “D” is any digit 0-9)
DDD-1DD-DDD
DDD-555-DDD

There may be others, but these are never legit.

These don’t represent a large portion of spoofed numbers, but every little bit helps.

12:05 PM - I disconnected the call, then blocked the number.

Caller ID = Dir Asst Ca

I didn't answer the call but let it go to voice mail. No message. Caller ID was "DIR ASST CA". Clearly a spoofed number. Now blocked.

Called, lft no msg hung up when my machine went on. Caller ID read: DIR ASST. CA.

i'M GOING TO GET RID OF MY LANDLINE. Fed up with these junk calls from boiler rooms.
