They threaten an arrest warrant

This number called and I couldn't understand a work she said but sounded like she said dept of Legal Affairs, in LA. Seriously. This woman had the thickest accent from India. I just had to file bankruptcy so she can suck it.

Someone with a heavy indian accent is calling me nonstop at work saying there is a lawsuit against me and I need to talk to Derrick Williams. I have dealt with these scams before. I just send them to voicemail every time they call. They may stop calling because I used several choice words while speaking (well actually yelling at him).

Just ignore them, they will eventually stop.

Got the same call saying that he was with us treasury and there was legal action against me. Told me to call a number stating I would go to jail if I didn't call it. Indian accent was so heavy I couldn't understand him. Ni idea where these [***] got my number.

I am looking for people that have received a call from these scammers. I'd like to take some legal action to shut them down and enforce a fine or whatever can be done to get them for the hoax. This is a SCAM and needs to be prosecuted.

If we don't take action - we'll be taken for fools. I am so SICK of people making unwarranted threats to scam innocent people.

Please let me know if you've had similar experiences.

I just got a call from the same # saying it was from the us treasury heavy Indian ascent I believe it's a scam anyone with more info???

Same thing I got. Saying to contact David Williams at the number they called from.

I received two phone calls from this number.  Same thing heavy Indian accent and that the U.S. Treasury was taking legal action

I'd like to see them go to jail also, but most of these scammers on this are in foreign country's (India, Pakistan etc)  But leave it to the Government and the Feds to take care of. This is what they are paid to do.  If you have information, then report it to the Feds at IRS, FTC, TIGTA or the FBI.

I just received a call saying I need to call back or have my retained attorney call.  Sounds very suspicious.  Anyone have any advice on how to handle this?  Is this something I should be concerned about?  

Got several voice mails from this number. Very heavy Indian accent I could barely understand. Sounded pretty hoax-y so I ignored it.

Total scam.  They are located in India and there isn't much anyone can do.   Call blocker is your best bet.

An Indian woman called my house asking for my husband. when i called her back she refused to tell me what she was calling for. She said there was legal action that was going to be taken against my husband due to taxes. i called the number 213-603-9085 and asked for David Williams . I thought she said Barret Willaims but when the man answered the phone he said David . When the man got on the phone he started threatening me right away saying me and my husband are going to jail for 6 months . i told him yeah right i just spoke with the IRS the other day and everything is fine . Well then he started yelling at me and when I started yelling at him he told me I was going to jail in 40 minutes cuz they were coming to get me. When I called my husband he was the one who found the number on google and it said it was scam . I spoke with the IRS and she stated my account was in good standing and everything was fine. So everyone needs to report them to 1-800-366-4484  ( TIGTA) to report the scam . that number was given to me by the IRS agent and she said to report the phone number to them.

I just received SEVERAL voicemail messages from this very same number from someone with a thick heavy accent back-to-back. It left the exact same messages everyone in this thread have talked about. Thank you everyone for taking time to inform everyone else about this scam. I could tell it was  hoax-y but your comments assured me that my gut instinct was right. How they got my phone number I will never know.
