Just received a call from someone saying that there is going to be a felony charge against me, they said that they were from the Dept of Legal Mediation, I told them I wanted to meet on the courthouse steps and they hung up on me.

listen ive just got a call from 213-785-1915 and they said they were from some kind of mediation saying I have a felony charge against me for bank fraud and that I needed to call to fix the matter but when I called ive talked to a young lady stating that she needed some information and hung up on me when I called back it goes to voice mail ive tried several times to contact but no answer

It's  a trap... no.. It's a fraud.  Track down a post by Tamianth and follow her instructions on how to file complaints with everyone and their dog.

I just got a call from a company stating they were the law office of legal mediation spoke to a Lisa and she advised that there are felony charges and a warrant out for my arrest due to debt owed from a bank i used to have over 7 years ago and the county i used to live in. She advised she was representing a company called Dj R group llc and they can settle an account with me for $375. When I told her i needed it in writing mailed to me and emailed to me she started to get aggitated. Then I asked her that I was unable to give her any money and if they want to work something out that I can contact them directly they wouldn't give me any information. Then I asked for her company address and she got more aggitated saying that I am not trying to pay and hung up. I was at a complete loss.

By the way they called my sister number as well and left 2 messages. I don't know how they got all that information. Scary??

I just got a call from them stating that they are a law firm and that my husband owe money to a bank by 7yrs ago. I tried to get more information but she wouldn't give it to me. She wanted to talk to him but I told her I'm his wife. She stated that I can get charge to if he don't call back. She name was Kirsten calling from some law firm called predisposition law firm and services. I look them up couldn't find nothing and call the bank they didn't know nothing. They told me they wouldn't used a law firm in another state. I look up the # nothing other law firm haven't heard if them. I wonder how they got so much stuff and my # which is private. That they was filing felony charges by the end of the day if he don't call back.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

I got the same call today from some woman saying they filing felony charges against me and my husband about a bank 7yrs ago. We don't know about I called all the banks and they never heard of us. She was calling from CA and we live in NC that didn't sound right to me. When she answer she didn't answer like a law firm or say the name.
