- EricTax fraud scam. Just got a call earlier today. You would never be contacted about something important like this by phone call anyway.
- CameronLeft a message saying they were the United States treasury department and I have to call them back or else I will have to go to federal claims court or jail. HAHA!
- ej| 1 replyHow do we report this to the local police?

- Le| 1 replyreceived a call, did not answer, then received a voicemail. Automated message stating it was US Treasury and I had a legal
claim pending against me and threatening jail time and an arrest. Obviously a scam!!! IRS only contacts you via mail and would never leave a voicemail such as this - Terry replies to LeJust like others I receive phone call voicemail was automated saying it was the IRS treasury department and that I had a pending claim and if I didn't call them back at this number then I was up for federal charges.
- DayJust received call stating tax fraud, and if I didn't call I would be arrested. SCAM!!
- Caller: Don't know the company
- tgJust received a similar call. Voicemail had a recorded message regarding tax fraud in "your name" and IRS etc. Obvious scam!
- Pissed!Says David Peterson from US Treasury - says tax evasion.
Same thing, stating has a subpoena and cops will be here to arrest me. total BS.
India voice- Call type: Telemarketer
- Phony CallGot the same message as the others. Believe me, you'll know if the Dept. of the Treasury wants to talk with you. A couple of Secret Service agents will knock on your door. And the I.R.S. uses mail only for their initial contact. Tell the person on the other end that they just called the state Attorneys General office and see how quickly they hang up.
Our local newspaper has been warning everyone about this for weeks.- Caller: 213-985-0543
- IdahoGuy| 1 replySame as above. Voicemail that sounded automated that stated I was facing federal tax charges so I need to call them back ASAP. SCAM for sure.
- Call type: Prank
- Idaho replies to IdahoGuyYeah I got that today as well so I called back spike to a guy who sounded like he was from India I asked him if he was even in the United States and he said yes California and he told me I have a warrent for my arrest for the next three years haha I said oh ok well let me call the treasures office myself and just see about this and he hung up on me lol
- Regina| 2 repliesI had a message from an automated voice on my answering machine stating that she was Judy Smith from the U.S. Treasury department to inform me that there was a legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against me. She said "still before the matter goes to federal claims court house or before you get arrested, please call immediately on our hot line number that is 213-985-0543. Make sure you call us as soon as possible." When I called the line was busy. I didn't feel right about the message, so I searched it and was very glad to find this!!!
- JohnRec'd automated call like others on a home business line, India accent, "Kevin Smith". Also said was about unpaid taxes for 2012. I asked him to confirm the last 4 of SSN in question, came up with some BS reason why he couldn't. He initially asked my name which I did give him, but when I asked him to reconfirm/spell the last name, he got it all wrong, not even close. It was almost too funny, but I am awaiting for the secret service to come arrest me within the next "20 minutes"...lol This crud irritates me. I think i'll call back just to mess with them....haha
- Call type: Telemarketer
- jimreceived call from 213-985-0543 stating that there was a tax fraud case naming me and that I must call back immediately. Said it was from the IRS

- ccarusoMy company just received the same call stating that we had some sort of tax fraud against us and to call back immediately before the boogie man came and took us all away (paraphrased)..... So I called back and the man answered the phone "United States Treasury Department". I said, oh really? He asked me if the business belonged to me and I said no that I was calling on behalf of my company. He asked for my name and I gave a first name only, then I told him that he sure didn't sound like the U.S. Treasury Dept and he asked me why would I say that. I then asked him why did they leave that ridiculous recording and he couldn't reply so I hung up.
- Caller: United States Treasury
- Call type: Debt collector
- They called again.Firstly, I received a similar call on 7/31/15 telling me to call (213)814-2323. Now it's the same thing left on my answering machine to call (213)985-0543. Ugh, I feel like I'm on some scammers phone list. And it looks like a number that has been around for over a month. Why are they still scamming? Anyways, message was a robot voice claiming to be Judy Smith from the IRS about a legal case filled against my name and that this was the final notice about a legal petition notice for a tax held against me and I'll be arrested. WTFever. This is getting annoying. Happened today around 2:30pm
