Collection agency calling......said name was John Thomas

never got a call directly from him, but people who know me received threatening phone calls from a Tre Howard, telling them that i had to call John Thomas at 214 206 8076 (Ranger Financial), before he "came to find" me.  i have never heard of or from this company, so i will not be calling.  and i'm thinking that these tactics are illegal -- even if i do owe something, which i very much doubt.  one person called the police (who guaranteed harassment charges would be filed if this person ever called again).  i think that someone got an old cell phone of mine or something, because i never put these numbers on any public record.
