A GUY NAMED TODD HOLT CALLED ON EASTER SUNDAY TO SAY HE HAS BUYER INTEREST OF FIRMS SIMILIAR TO OURS IN OUR AREA.

HE SAID HIS FIRM WAS CALLED NBCS

Todd Holt called on 2009-04-19 to say he has a buyers interested in firms similar to ours in our area.

His company is NBCS

I got a call today from Todd Holt of NBCS saying he has buyers interested in business's like mine in this area.  Anyone know who this guy is or what his company is?  I could find nothing on the company on the net.

Be careful. It sounds like Corporate Acquisitions Group/Global Acquisitions all over again. It is definitely a scam. See www.tytymkovich.com, a website where scammed clients can share their story and find out what they can do. Basically, Corporate Acquisitions Group or Global Acquisitions promise to sell your business. All you have to do is pay them a valuation fee (usually $3000-$10,0000). They promise to refund the fee if your business doesn't sell. Guess what -- you'll probably never see your money again.

Got a call from Todd Holt at 11:30pm last nite. He left a message that there has been intrest in buying businesses like mine in the Vancouver Island area. Company name is NBCS. Looked it up online and it looks like a real business, but he sounds like a real [***]. Who telemarkets at 11:30?

A guy named Tod Holts called us today. April 9, 2010. He said he was from International Aquision Group. And like everyone else he said he has buyer interest of firms similiar to ours in our area and to call him back. 214-257-7654. Sounds like a snake to me.

We got a call from Tim Holz, said he was from 'International Acquisitions'. Sounded like a scam to me...same number 214-257-7654. Someone should send his number to all the telemarketers worldwide:)

I received a call too.  And I was curious because I'm wanting to sell my metal fabricating business on Vancover Is but a bit bitter b/c I listed with Sunbelt and they didn't do sh*t.  Found out a friend of mine's brother in Alberta worked with this company and sold so now I'm more curious.  They're based in dallas.  I checked with the BBB & dallas chamber they actually look good.  The website is www.intlag.com.  There doesn't seem to be any affiliation with Corporate Acquisitions Group.  Looks like they were founded in 1983 I think?  Todd Holz I think is a business analyst he said.  I haven't personally done anything yet so this is all I know.  If anyone else has any more info it would be greatly appreciated.

We actually just met with Todd Holt. He had some interesting stuff to say. He seemed legit and presented himself as very honest but there were some red flags which made us chose not to go with them. He said would not go ahead with the 3 hour interview unless we agreed at the beginning of the meeting that we would sign up with International Aquisitions Group if we agreed with what he said. But he would not tell us anything else until we agreed to this. This seemed like a very high pressure sales technique to not give you any time to think about signing with them. Although he claims he is not a salesperson, he is the "business analyst". But after we sign, we are committing to have a comprehensive business analysis completed by another company for $5000-$10000 (depending on the size of you business) and committing to have them represent our business for 3 years. He claims the Analysis company is totally seperate from IAG and they get none of the money from the Analysis (although this company is also based in Dalas). He also claimed that the Business Analyst company would not have to visit our location in Vancouver BC. We found it very odd that a company who they claimed would do a comprehensive business analysis that would be accepted by all major banks worldwide would not have to even look at our premises. Todd said that they do not get paid unless they sell our business. We asked him why we could not find any information on a company that claims to have been in business for over 20 years and he said they prefer to do print media and not advertise on the internet. He said he did not have any references from past clients because his business is completely confidential and he cannot disclose anyones information. We also checked them out on the BBB but when we asked him who the owner was, he said a different name (Strik Hollander) than the one listed on the BBB website. (I am not sure about the spelling of the name). In the end, Todd Holt left our premises without doing his analysis because we could not commit so sign something we knew nothing about. We decided to stay local and go with a company that is more transparent. I hope helps some of you looking for more info.

I too received a call from Todd Holtz who claimed he actually had a buyer for my small company.  I told him that if he has a buyer they are welcome to the business since I will surely see more money from selling it than I ever will working in it.  He balked.

I am a partner in DTZ Barnicke on Vancouver Island. This Todd Holt has been calling a number of my clients ( businesses we have listed for sale). My clients in turn  contacted me to let me know. He seems to get the name of various businesses from our website, tracks down the phone number and contacts them directly. He does not return my calls. This is a scam so be careful.

I haven't talked to Todd Holt but I got a voicemail from him.  Haven't called back yet.  Got their website though www.intlag.com.  I also did a BBB search & they're A rated.

A field analyst from IAG called me about my business.  I'm not looking to sell myself but about a year ago I was in a networking group with somebody that was working with company to sell his business.  I lost touch with him but I do know that his company is now under new ownership now

IAG is an M&A company based in Dallas, TX.

Yes this company is legit.  Did my homework.  The company is over 20 years old.

They're a mergers & acquistions company.  A competitor of mine recently sold his business though this company to some outfit based in PA.

There's no relation between those 2 companies..

I know someone who had success with this company.  I'm meeting with them in 2 weeks.

Yeah they're not related at all to that other company.
