Received call, IDer said Dallas, TX. My Tele-Zapper might have zapped them because there was a dial tone after it did its thing. Several attempts to call them back brought 10-15 sec of silence and then weak voice saying number could not be reached as dialed. Call came in abt 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

Called at 5:35PM Eastern time on Friday, 1/11/2008; caller ID read DALLAS, TX so I didn't answer, and no message was left.  I've read some of the comments on another website on this number about being asked to press a button.  I read an article at a business office that warned people not to press buttons when being tricked into doing so because it opens your line to use.  Judging from some comments on the other website and on this one that a survey is being conducted, it seems it's beyond the purview of the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, but I'll still report it. Also judging from the comments (starting out as a plausible survey and morphing into vulgarity) I think it would fall under the purview of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or Federal Communication Commission (FCC).  It's good to know from everyone's comments that I'm not missing an important call but, rather, avoiding what could amount to a problem.  I'll continue to confidently not answer.

Received a call from 214-283-1316 at 4 p.m. on Sunday.  No one home and there was no message left.  Tried to call back the number and got a voice mail that it belonged to Hazen (?) Martinez.  No idea who this is or what company or anything.

Got a call from this caller.  Thanks to caller ID I did not answer and they did not leave a message.

Could not opt out to the stupid automated system and they kept my phone tied up until the prerecorded message was done. Said they were from something like Russell Reports and were conducting a public opinion survey. Tried to call back but no answer> Keep calling back in hopes that I can tie up their automated system and keep them from annoying the crap out of everyone.

Hello, my mother recieved this call and didn't answer it. When she tried calling it back it clicked her off. She couldn't get a ring or answer.

Got a call from them at 6:00 p.m. but didn't answer, thanks to Caller ID.

I thought I'd call them back, just to see what happened, and if anyone answered then I'd ask them to take me off their call list.

When I called though, I heard nothing.  No sound at all.  It was just like dead air.  I've never had this happen to me before with any call.  After about a minute, I got a fast busy signal (I think the fast busy is something the phone company does though).

Recently my mom My mom filled out one of those trick advertisements online though, saying she'd get $500 in coupons from Home Depot, Applebee's Red Lobster, etc, and not being very computer/internet/savvy (she's 75 y/o), she proceeded to enter all information honesty, not knowing what lay in store if she did that.

She then began getting bombarded with tons of useless spam and put on lists she cannot get off of even though she's been asking everyone to take her off their list. Some of them have no way to unsubscribe from them.

I don't know if this call is related to that or not.  We got a call from one of them.





I'm afraid this may only be the beginning. These trick advertisers/spammers waste so much of their time involved in these types of activities when they could be doing something productive rather than just trying to trick people and then bugging them to buy useless crap and getting them involved in what has to be either pyramid schemes, Amway, and crap like that.

They keep calling, I keep not answering. Tonight they rang around 6:30PM (in Pennsylvania) Caller ID says "Wireless Caller" yeah right. I filed a complaint with at donotcall.gov and would suggest others do the same.

I took their poll.  It seemed legitimate, with no "gotcha" questions.  It had some national questions, but seemed to have more focused on the upcoming North Carolina primaries (in May) for governor and senator.  Since I live in NC, it seemed perfectly natural.  I work for a company which does similar polls - though with live telephone interviewers.

time today. Last call was 5:15pm est. 1/31/2008.
No one every says a word, nor leaves a message if
I do not answer the call. Also when calling this
number back the call just goes into a fast busy.
So after finding these reports on this number we
have now used or persoal Call Block Service and
have blocked this number from calling us....

No message left on answering machine.

I got The call from (2114)283-1316 at 6:52pm.....about dinner time. All that caller ID said was Wireless Caller. The automated message claimed to be from a company called Rassmusen Research, at that point I hung up. in my opinion automated research polls should be treated like Email spam.. and made illegeal. just my two cents worth

Some of these sound like push polls. It acts like a poll, but really they are slamming a candidate or what ever (your affiliations?). In other words it's trying to influence you. This one is so weird some sort of fraud seems likely. This is an example tel com abuse. FCC, FTC, Tel cos are asleep at the wheel. This thread is a year old and still it persists. ATT has been helping the government spy illegally and the Republicans are complicit. Why anyone would vote for that party is beyond me. Oh yeah they're against abortion. (but for war!) People are so simple and stupid. Vote Republican- the torture, spy, anti environment party. Their motto should be. "We fear liberty"

Number was on caller ID no resopnse when machine picked up

There was an inaudible part in the beginning of the electronic message. It came here at 731PM, found on the answering machine, on a Friday night. Even if you ignore message (and not spend the money for the *69, you still get to hear the ringing when you are trying to rest. Well, others use to call on
Saturday mornings. Maybe it is getting better?

This number was on ID this afternoon, did not call them back.

got this call Saturday night and although we have caller ID, had to answer it because my husband works 3rd shift and he was trying to get a few hours sleep before going into work.  I hung up and did not answer the survey questions.  Tried to call the number back several times to be put on "their" DNC list (by the way, I am on the DNC list) but get only a busy signal. I agree with SNOTFACE's description of them.
