    Someone called me from this number talking about I had a pay day loan in 2009 tht my bank paid off and now my bank is about to prosecute me because I haven't paid it back. I had no payday loan in 2009 plus I still bank with my bank. If I owed them any money they would've deducted it from my account seeing how I have direct deposit. This is frustrating & disgusting that someone would stoop as low as this.  Something needs to be done about this!

    Received call from someone saying that if I wouldn't pay for a online loan today I would have two warrants for my arrest and would have to pay a 5000 dollar bond to get out of jail.  And she said " why pay 5000 to get out and get a lawyer if you could only pay 600 dollars and the charges would be erased." Don't pick up fraud fraud fraud.  Horrible people trying to get your money.

    What did they end up doing? The same thing happened to me right now and I'm tryin to understand it or find out what to do.they said to make two payment arrangements because I didn't have the amount on hand and I have made one payment thinking it was a previous loan I took out until my taxes showed up and the place and only place I owed in Texas was taking out automatically.so of course I called the place I owed and asked about the payment arrangements we had in place and they were lost.so I called the (214) number back and they told me no they were not the same company we argued about who they were,they were difficult ,I talked to mis .Smith,she supposed to be working it. But I need to know who I paid and why.she keeps harassing telling me she will get cops on me and since I hadn't paid the second payment after finding out she's still calling me saying look forward to  police showing at my job and 5000dollar fine 90 days in jail and parole smh what do I do!

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    They called my office today and left a message with my assistant, as well as calling me on my cell phone.  Legal Recovery Solutions (my caller ID says Dallas, TX area).  Miss Smith told my assistant that they were looking to track me down in the state so that I could be arrested by law enforcement.  While I was still on the other line at work, she called my cell phone and left a message there.  Then, as I'm listening to it, I get the message walked in to me from my assistant who looks mortified (since he just took a call saying I'm going to be arrested for a bad debt).  Can you imagine?

    Then, on my cell phone, when I returned her voice mail, she told me that she ran a criminal background check on me and would hate to see me arrested over $475 unless I worked it out today.  I told her I had never taken out such a loan, but since I applied for a vehicle loan online in 2011 I have been inundated by these scam calls.... probably one a month. (BTW, she is definitely the most aggressive so far). I asked her to give me a phone number and her contact for the actual debtor

    She threatened to send law enforcement to arrest me, advised me how much bail will cost, if I don't make a settlement today she'll have me charged, etc. etc.  When I asked for her contact address, she refused to provide it. When I asked for a contact at the lender (supposedly an online payday advance -- My Cash Now), she said they wouldn't even have a record of me so it wouldn't do any good.  Then, when I pressed her on how it is she can press criminal charges on a debt collection, and if they pursue it than I will pursue civil charges...... she hung up on me!!!

    I've reported these other calls to State Attorney General, etc.  I never hear anything.  Seriously, why can't these people be stopped.  This is crazy.  This is DEFINITELY a scam, and they are so threatening that I can see why it would be compelling to pay them just to see if you can get the threats and embarrassment to stop. But, then what? Then, they have even more information PLUS YOUR MONEY to continue to leverage for harassment.

    Annoyed
    I recieved a call from this number and did not answer. A voicemail was left from Elaine Smith x720 (sounded like a man) saying my dad's name and that he had criminal charges against him. I was at work and this got me all upset so I left my desk and went into a conference room to call the number back and let them know they got a wrong number (my family lives hours away and I have not lived with them in 11 years). When I called her back I spoke with a Tracy Clark at x708 she kept putting me on hold (which made me curious as if this might be spam and she might be hacking my phone). I asked her how she got my number because I don't even live with my dad, I live two hours away. She said perhaps he had listed me as a party on his loan and that he had written some bad checks on a loan payment and the company was trying to get a hold of him. I said, "What company?" and she just kept saying 'the company'. She said if they didn't she would submit her paperwork to the state and have my dad arrested. I told her, "I'm not sure how you got my phone number but I don't appreciate you calling me with this." She told me I would be called in as a witness against my dad and I told her I would not be called in as a witness because I was not giving her my name or any personal information and I had nothing to do with why she was calling. I told her I would take her information and have my dad call her but she needed to remove my number from her list and never call me again. I took her information and asked her what information I needed to give my dad and she gave me her name, number and extension and told me he had 3 felony charges against him and if he did not pay $710.25 he would be arrested. I called my dad about it and he said she had called him too as well as his job with the same bogus story. He said it was spam and since he works for the govenment his job told her if she called again she would be investigated for disturbing a federal institution. When I googled this number I was PISSED to find out others had been victimized or disturbed by this clown. What can we do about this?????
