An individual named Donald Lawson called and claimed he was an attorney with Collins & Meyers law firm in Dallas.  He is not listed as an attorney with the Texas Bar Association because I talked to my attorney who looked it up on the texasbar.com website.  He claimed that I would be arrested on felony warrants which the judge was going to sign off if I didn't make restitution.  Apparently he is from a collection agency because the internet loan was sold off to several collection agencies.  The tactics they use to scare people is totaly rediculous and will be reported to the texas attorney general's office.

I received a call from this company last night stating  sheriff was on the way to arrest me on felony fraud charges regarding an account that was identity theft years ago and has since been reported to the police.  The woman, Joann Johnson, not only threatened my father but also my ex-husband and me.  When I got them on the phone, I started asking lots of questions.  I asked for the names of the attorneys at the "firm" their website, dates that they sent mail out to me - all of which were answered with "why do you want to know".  Of course I wanted this information to add to the police report I filed three years ago.  They refused to give me any information, they are not listed anywhere on the web, they repeatedly hung up on me when I pushed for information from the company, swore at me and threatened to have me arrested for harassment if I called them again.  For a company threatening to have me arrested, they reacted very strangely when I wanted information from them.  I searched attorneys in Dallas, BBB of Dallas, and even expanded into collection agencies and this company does not exist.  I am adding this to the police report. I could not believe how rude, unprofessional and unwilling to give information they were, especially since they wanted me to hand over money to them.

Just got a call from them. They dont know the way it works. Sheriff would have called me and told me to stop by and have cup of coffee and we talk about it. Lol! I love Mayberry.

I just got the same call except from a different number. They said they were from Collins& Meyers law Firm out of Dallas TX. Im in Ohio hee hee!They wanted me to pay a $424.00 payday loan from 2008 and stated that if I didn't a felony warrant would be issued for me tomorrow morning! I asked her what court house would the warent be issued from and she said hold on she hac to check. 5 minutes later she told me my county court by name. Then when I asked which judje she said she didn't know. I then asked why would a felony warrant be issued for $424.00 when it's such a small amount! She got angry and called me stupid and told me good luck at court tomorrow and then she hung up on me !?????! WTF!

I got the same call, but first he called relatives with "urgent message" to call him and that if I didn't pay I would wind up in jail and that there was a law suit pending.

Got the same call. Talked to Joan Johnson and DAngelo Merridy. DAngelo told me I disgusted him and hung up on me when I asked questions. Filed a police report after contacting prosecutor (only person who can file charges against you btw) and county clerk both of which say I have NO CHARGES! Not even in their system! Smh. They were very clever & almost had me but Thank God I have a mother & grandmother who are business women and know the law very well!

Similar thing happened to my husband today, they called his father who is 6 hours away and said they were going to issue a warrant and it would cost me 4k to get him out of jail we didn't pay 1000 today to handle a pay day loan place from 2008, we were almost going to pay it until I came across this, There was a loan there, and it was a default, however they never tried to collect it like they said, and when we tried to pay it over 2 years ago they had no claim on it, all of a sudden it pops up after it hasn't been on his credit report.. all of this made no sense.. did anyone else on here actually hear back from them again after they hung up on you for asking them to many questions or face any actual legal action? they gave us two different phone numbers as well which made no sense an 832-303-4591 and then 214-396-4128

He presented himself from Turner and Finley Law firm, I contacted the Texas bar association they have no record of Donald Lawson as a lawyer.. I filed a complain on txuplc.org
Take action and prevent him from scamming from others!

i worked for them they are located at 7948 baymeadows road jacksonville florida under the llc ross delong & associates. they use many attorney names like morgan lewis & associates and many many others. they tell the collectors it is impossible to be traced and change there call back names, attorney names and phone numbers. they short employees on their pay and our now being looked at by the department of labor. they are being reported to the ny attorney general the federal trade commission and the florida attorney general

Is Turner and Stanley one of thier names?

We just got a call from these people today and they claimed to my husband's friend to be the FBI looking for my husband.  My husband called them back and said he was talking to a guy who sounded African American from someplace south and couldn't completely understand the name of the company.  I proceeded to call the number back and start asking questions.  I talked to the same guy who sounded like an African American with a southern accent.  I had to have him repeat the name of his company 3 times before I got it.  He tried to say it very fast to keep me from understanding the name.  It was Turner and Finley but it definitely sounded like Turner and Stanley the first 2 times he said it.  If you start asking them questions about where they are at, dates, alleged case numbers, etc; they get really mad and hang up the phone.

Is this company a legal collection agency?

I got a call from a Rick Price, representing Turner Finley & Assoc on 10/5/12, 10/11/12, 10/15/12, all with "urgent" messages saying that I needed to call them back regarding someone I knew. They claimed they were not a telemarketer. I called them back asking questions, was given the rundown on the situation or my contact would have a warrent out for his arrest. I called the number he called me from, cannot recieve calls. I called the #855 he gave me and got Rick Price. Rick Price and Turner Finley is no where to be found in the White Pages or Google under these numbers.

this is NOT a legitimate company..... not registered in any state..... violating every FDCPA law in existence....DO NOT PAY THEM...you cannot be arrested for failure to pay a payday loan in ANY state, you can't be sued by them (they are not a real company or a lawfirm) they are just a bunch of collectors who bought a junk debt portfolio that they now own and are trying to collect from you by using extortion and scare tactics.  they keep every dime they collect.   Make them mail you (via us mail  not email) verifcation of the actual debt, as the law requires... they won't do this, because they can't reveal where they really are, thus proving my point....

we know exactly where and who these people are... that's the nice thing about wire taps and surveilance... just a matter of time... quite a few people will soon be unemployed

There is currently 6-12 chop shops operating in Jacksonville, FL. They are all under the Greg Mackinnon out of New York.

Okay, so here is the deal.  This debt collection company was owned and operated by Greg MacKinnon (who has been in trouble before with his brother Doug MacKinnon for the same thing).  It has recently been shut down by the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Courts in New York in order to penalize them and recoup some of the funds they extorted from people.

They operated under the name Vantage Point Services and Payment Management Solutions in the most recent scam, and they have been doing this for a long time.  They have already opened another office, so be careful!
