I researched alot of sites and only one comment for a cross country mortgage. No clue why they call me, I blocked the number

They don't give up.  Calling back goes to voice mail.    Leaving a message requesting to be removed from the call list does no good.

(214) 396-5540 – They say they represent Crosscountry Mortgage. I got tired of getting 3 or 4 calls a day from the, which I normally don’t answer. Then I did some homework and found is that there is a legitimate company, Crosscountry Mortgage, Inc. in Brecksville, Ohio (between Cleveland and Akron). They are registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). I found out their NMLS ID number. They have an office in Dallas, but that number is not (214) 396-5540, even though 214 is a Dallas area code.

When I did answer their call, I asked if they were calling from Dallas. Their answer – They were calling from Brecksville, Ohio. I asked why the caller id showed a Dallas area code. They said the company was consolidating offices; they used to be in Texas but now were in Ohio. That did not make sense to me because I knew that the company was growing and looking for new affiliates and it had at least one office in the Dallas area. I asked for the NMLS ID number. The person who initiated the call had no idea what I was talking about. His supervisor had some idea, but was evasive. She gave me the telephone number, claiming it was the NMLS ID. When I challenged her she said it was their contract number. When I said I was planning to sue the company for violation of Do-Not-Call regulations, she assured me no one would call me again. So far they haven’t, but I’m ready if they do.

This company calls at least 3 times a day. They leave no message.

Daily multiple calls. Very annoyying!

Multiple daily calls from early morning until late into the evening. Never leave a message.  I just ignore them, but it gets so annoying.

Two times a day, I don't answer.  Tried calling back, and I didn't even get an answering service.  

Thanks for posting here.  Good to know that it's a sales call that shouldn't be hitting my cell phone!

I am getting these calls now as well.  It is annoying!!!!  I have sent an email to Crosscountry Mortgage and asked them to stop the calls. Thanks for this information!

All of you above, thank you. And thank you 800notes! getting calls from this number. I do not answer and no messages are left. My loog is showing 5540 as last four numbers, but then a 5th number , so it's like 55401, 554024. etc. The 1-2-4 etc extra digit might be an extension of the main phone? I dunnoe.

They call very frequently day and night finally called them back press 1 for a agent 2 to be put on do not call list

Started receiving 3 calls a day from this number. Very annoying. Not sure how they got ahold of my number but thanks to Apple for their handy block feature.

Multiple, unwanted telemarketing calls from Cross Country Mortgage, as early as 08:15 AM and late as 20:36 PM. I've answered/told them I'm a renter so calling me about "my mortgage" is ridiculous/demanded they remove my number/stop calling, but they keep calling/don't leave messages. Thank you to Wolfman Jack and "dude" for their information. I've launched a return campaign against CCM.
