Got the number off of caller ID, says "Unknown" and not any number or area code I recognize.

Caller ID listed this as AC. They called about 8am or so. I don't know who these people are but have received this call, before.

214-446-9836 Some guy told me this was the Yellow Pages calling to update my file, and that there is no charge. When I asked where he was calling from he hung up. This yellow page crap is a scam to get personal info from you according to other reports who have refered to the Yellow Pages. Dont give them any info!!! This # does not exhist in any phonebook SCAM-SCAM

Only silence when I answered.

They just called wanted to verify info....said they were from the Yellow Pages....i did our address and phone number thinking they already have this info if they called. Then she "transfered" me to the "verification dept." went over the info then quickly spoke something about a free 30 day trial. I said no we do not want this. She said "i want this for your company...I know your boss...he asked me to do this..i will have him fire you"....!! I told her if we receive anything from them we will sue them. They had very bad broken english. I am still half laughling and half appauld at the call!

My husband picked up the call.  A man said he was with the Yellow Pages and wanted to confirm our address.  My husband stated we were not interested and hung up.

I answered the phone. A man with a middle eastern accent kept repeating "the call you have made is out of calling area". It did not make any sense because he had called me. I just hung up. The caller id listed him as AC. If he calls again he will get a loud whistle in the ear instead of a hello!

The call always drops so I never get to hear who is on the other end. I've gotten a number of calls from this # in the past 4 days.  
My suggestion is to ignore the call w/o picking up if you can. Appears to be prank calls

Received a caller id as 'AC' no message. Phoned Tex Link, who holds the number for these scammers,but because it was the weekend and Frank at the NMC of Tex Link, was not helpful, will follow through with the harrasment by these scammers with Tex Link at (210) 892-4200 or (877) 774-4100 during their business hours 8-5.  Anyone else who receives a phone call from these scammers should do the same.  Report them to Tex Link, the FCC, and Consumer Fraud in Austin.

A person who was tough to understand said  he is calling from embark to  update the information & tried to get some information,I simply hung up.Dont even attend this phone call,as I called them back to verify there was a recording saying this number has been disconnected or no longer in service!!

I have been getting these calls over a week now. I did not pickup because I don't recognize the number. Good thing I didn't right?

2144469836 has called our business line several times before, and i don't remember them being with my phone company (embarq), but the caller said they were this time and i started to update information until they asked my name. our phone bill has been slammed before, when we were caught off guard about ten years ago and we have been more careful since...but lying? that's a new low, so now i had to take the time to report them.

I had a guy deliver a copy of the AT&T yellow pages to my office today and asked for a business card.  I asked what the business card had to do with anything, and he replied that it is for verification that he actually delivered the phone book.  Sensing something fishy, I just gave him one of  generic card without a name.  20 minutes later, I received a call from A C, woman stated she wanted to update info for their website I am supposedly on.  I said, "Uh, I'm not on your website".  She said "it will only take a minute".  I say, "what do you need to know?"  She says, "is it ok?", then hangs up.  I believe that this is a marketing technique these companies use to get info that they can later use to solicit.

I called 210-892-4200 to report this and asked if the phone company would be able to help. They said the only thing they could was to email that scum company "A C" without my phone number so that they can take it off their call list. That does not sound good to me since I doubt if that scum will do that or, on the contrary, might call me more often! So, I decided not to request the phone company to email my phone to that [***]. So much help from them!

I received call from 214- 446- 8636, calling ID reffing to "AC". I did not answer, but called it back within a minute. The recording said this number was no longer in service or disconnected. how'd they do that??...hmmm.

Got a call from AC,SSD=2009011 (214-446-9836).  However, when I called the number back, the message sounds an error tone and says the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.  How can someone call out with a disconnected number showing on the ID is a trick I'd like to know.  The next day(s), the number called again, but when I picked up, there was never anyone there.  Then someone actually spoke and said they were just calling from the phone book/yellow pages to verify our business information (address, phone numbers, type of service/office, etc.) and that there is no charge, they were just updating their records.  After the call, they asked if I would hold while they transferred me to a recording which would verify the information I provided them with.  After I got through the (same) questions, they thanked me and informed me that I would be receiving a free 30 day risk trial for their service(?) and could cancel at any time; otherwise if I was happy with the service, I could do nothing and would be billed $9.95 per month, which would appear on my phone bill!!!  The recording also asked me to verify by saying "yes" (there was no "no" option offered).  At the very end of the recording, it said I could call to be removed/cancel the service any time at 866-361-1205 or log onto www.healthconfirm/cancel.  When I called back to cancel, they said I had to call back after 24 hours; they did not have the call record on their system yet.  I called back the next day to take care of this nuisance and asked them the name of the company and address.  The woman reluctantly told me it is HEALTH CONFIRM, 7040 W. Palmetto Road, Boca Raton, FL 33433.  I plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau in the hopes they'll take our number off their call list, since nothing else seems to work.

They are from a loan company online.
