Irritated - 15 Jul 2008I've received several calls from them about my time running out to extend my warranty. They've called from 213-710-8113, 214-540-8973, unknown #, private # and another number that I don't recall. I have a car on AutoTrader also, so I guess that's how they got my number.

fmremp - 16 Jul 2008Its not a scam... caroffer is a legit company that offers to purchase your car outright... similar to carmax but without trying to sell you another car. i'm not sure all the ways they get the numbers, but my bf got a call from them and he had his car listed in autotrader, so i would assume that's where they get them. you can speak to them and have your number removed from their database if you don't wish to have them call you.

Auto Trader - 23 Jul 2008I received a phone call from these people too. I forget the name of the "company" but they wanted to help me sell my car... I posted my car for sale on Autotrader, Craigslist, and Vehix. Although, I think it is the Autotrader ad that caused the problem because none of the others had my phone number....

anti-spam - 29 Jul 2008214) 540-8973 caller id indicated the caller was from Dallas. In the meanwhile I also got an email from them. www.caroffer.com allied with PepBoys, according to them. They made an offer with a check that the car seller is supposed to get when you arrive at the Pep Boys but you cannot cash the check.....

I have been contacted by caroffer.com. Some research and I've discovered that caroffer.com it is not a business, but is actually a "sideline" run by the Pep Boys chain. And Pep Boys has an amazing "rap sheet". I've never seen negative customer comments like these before.

Eric - 7 Aug 2008They called me as I have a car on craigslist. I was golfing so I did not answer - this information was helpful. I was 10 over par after 11 holes when they called. I made 7 consecutive pars after they called me.

JA - 14 Aug 2008I have a vehicle listed on cars.com. I received a call from this number. No voice on other end of phone, I hung up. From reading this and other sites sounds like a scam (and illegal).
