I've gotten several calls from this number. I've let my machine pick it up every time, every time no message left, just a brief electronic sound before my voicemail kicks in that tells me it's automated.

Who is it? I have family outside the country, but highly doubtful it's them calling through a phone card since I chat with them online virtually every night and they'd let me know they were calling. Collections? Ah, getting warmer but still odd, even for them.

Some sort of scam or wrong number? Who knows? It's getting to the point where I'm reluctant to even pick up my phone anymore. Some weird stuff out there and it doesn't seem like laws and regulations are nearly powerful enough to control what's lurking out there on the phone lines.

The call came in from this number and I answered it and they (a female probably in her late 20's with another female laughing in the back ground ask for my husbands (by name)& I said he wasn't home they laughed and hung up. Tried to block the phone number but couldn't due to some reason. I don't know what to do. I called back and got the same results as the other letters. I'm worried that since I called back they have information that they wanted that I might not realize they received. What should we do?

i received a call from this number; it was someone I met online and he says it is a payphone.  scammers use this number to solicit funds from unsuspecting victims and mask their identity.  not sure if it is from Nigeria, London or one of the other many places mentioned.  What I DO know is that from reading this, someone is obviously using this number to mask their real number.

Like so many others, this is another number used for international connection to hide identity.  If it is being used, it is part of a scam.

This number is a call from a Skype user. Probably Skype puts this number for all its gateway, but it does not give the real callid from the initial caller.

Hopefully this info may help. I use a phone service on my PC called Skype that allows me to call other PC's that have Skype installed, free of charge, and also for an annual fee I can call telephones anywhere in the US with no additional charges. There is also an option to be given a phone number and being able to receive calls from telephones on my PC for an additional annual fee. I don't have the incoming service and therefore I haven't been issued a phone number. Normally when I call people they say the caller ID shows up as unavailable or 0000123456, but this morning I made a call and was told the number showed to be 214-586-0999. This was a first for a different ID other than those mentioned above so I did a google search to see what the results of the number would be and as a result I found this forum. Most likely you're receiving calls from someone using their PC and when you try to call the number back you're not getting the person who actually called due to them not paying to receive calls from phones. It's probably going through a control center of some kind. There could be other reasons, but I wanted to at least mention what I know to be the case here. Have a good day.

BE VERY AWARE!!!  My parents received a call from this number this morning.  They asked my dad, who is 77 and wasn't thinking, for his bank account number and next check number.  He can't remember whether they asked for his social security number or not.  Anyway he gave the info that was asked for and was told that he would receive something in the mail in 3 to 4 weeks.  After he hung up, he called me.  We went to the bank and had to change his account, we have to change his bank info with SSA, and we had to place fraud alerts with all 3 credit reporting agencies.  i called the number back and got really strange music and a repeat recording every little while that said "please wait while I connect your call."  I did a reverse look-up on the number and it shows nothing.  This could be someone that has been testing the waters and may be moving up to a new level so be very aware!

My dad did the same thing.  If you should receive any kind of money orders or anything like that, DO NOT CASH THEM!  Call the secret Service as we were instructed to do.  Thats how they get you.  They'll have you keep one of them and then ask you to have a new MO made from some of the monies and send to someone else (they'll give you instructions).  They are conterfeit and what happens is you cash them (it will take the bank a few days to return them to you)and since they are conterfeit you will be resposible for them.  You were smart in changing your bank info.  BE VERY AWARE AS WELL.

I got a call from the this number right before I got a call from my uncle from Mexico. I am hoping from what I have read in here that it is just his call beingrouted through that service. I tried calling it back and got nothing but the music and the automated wait message.

I don't have a premiere bank card , never have had one, and I got a call from this number just now. I don't think it's Premiere, it's likely the Skype situation with various people and businesses using Skype and that must be a routing number assigned to the Skype call.

I have been receiving a call from this number for a week and 10 times a day.  When I answer it, the computerized voice will ask me to type in an extension number, that makes no sense to me, since I am not the one that called this number.  When I do call the number all I get is another computerized voice saying 'please hold while I connect you' and I sat there with it on speaker phone for an hour and it never connected, I just got to hear new age music.

Just reeceived a call from this number. At 4:43 AM (showed up as 214-586-0999), At 4:44 AM (showed up as unavailable), At 4:46 AM (showed up as unavailable), and then at 5:17 AM (showed up as unavailable).

Looks like it's a routing mechanism for long distance calls. Possibly those using a phone card from overseas. Called the number like everyone else and got the weird techno music.

Doing a reverse look up yields this info:

Type: Land Line
Provider: Ibfa Aquisition Company, Llc
Location: Dallas, TX
Caller ID: 214-586-0999

I get this caller ID when my son calls me from overseas from his cell phone and he uses a calling card for the long distance.  When he calls from a land line the caller id shows the actual overseas number. So obviously this number is a routing for overseas calling cards.

I got a call from my folks back home in India. And I saw that there was a missed call from this no. I tried looking up the no and found this forum. My guess is that its a calling network thing.
