I'm trying to bait a scammer in Nigeria. I gave out my cell-phone number (untraceable/prepaid) and I think it might be him.

It must be an international telephone forwarding service.

I've gotten about 6 calls within two hour time frame. I refuse to answer.

Here's an update (from whocalled.us):

"This is a routing number for a Voice-over IP phone service. Could be anyone you know or someone you don't using Vonage, Skype, or even Yahoo phone services."

It's a Skype (see: www.skype.com) number, but not specific to a particular person (anyone using Skype International comes up with this number).

Problem solved!

Pretty much the same as the rest of you. the number showed up on my C.ID reverse phone searched and the numbner comes up as Dallas Tx. Same answer will connect and funky music. Tired of Telemarketers and I want to fight back!!! Registered with do not call. alot of good that did. Getting ready to go back to the tin can and string bit.

I live in the States and my boy friend is out of the country right now. We talk everyday. But since Monday, when he calls this crazy number have been showing up on the caller ID and it is not his phone number. I asked where are you callimg me from and he said his own phone. I explained that this 214 # showed up on the caller ID and we both thought it was weird, I told him that information (411) said that 214 exchange is a Dallas, TX area code. Please explain, we are both puzzled by it. But I must add, your comments here really helps, because neither one of us could explain it, hell I almost accused him of not being where he said he was!

weird!! i got this call too!! i returned the call and all i heard was music!!  weird!!! weird!!!

For what it's worth I just got the call from 214-586-09999.  The only other thing that popped up on the caller ID was INTERNATIONAL.  No one said anything when I answered the phone, but they didn't hangup either.  Sounded like a call center in the background.  A reverse phone number check showed the following:

Location: Dallas, TX

214-586-0999 has been calling my home for 3 weeks the calls start at 830pm 200 am 230am 400am 630am all night long it is always a man he is not speaking spanish i dont know what he is speaking i curse him out and scream but that does not help i called my phone provider today and they said they could only change my number they have no way to block it this number comes up international but he also calls from 234-803-972-7710 this will come up with unknown name i think this number might be a phone card u cannot call this number back

I just a call from this number.  My 4 year old answered and when I took the phone it disconnected.

My son who lives in Germany called me this a.m. and my caller I.D. showed this number International  514-586-0999?  He didn't have a clue.  Usually it says unknown name/unknown number.  The call originated from my son's private residence so I don't understand it.

I missed the first call. Called back the second tine, got some funky music

Please try and get this number turned off by the phone company or something.

RECIEVED A CALL FROM A FRIEND IN BRASIL...IT WAS ALARMING BECAUSE THIS NUMBER REGISTERS AS A DALLAS NUMBER IN MY CELL...THE PERSON CALLING ME MIGHT HAVE BEEN USING A CALLING CARD OR SKYPE OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE. IM STILL UNSURE OF THE NUMBER ITSELF...DO TELECOM COs GENERATE RANDOM NUMBERS TO ASSIGN TO PREPAID CARDS OR INTERNET CALLING SERVICE??

I received this call today from a foreigner asking to speak to my ex-husband.  when I told them that he had never lived here or never had this number and where did they get my number, they hung up on me.  I tried calling the number back an all I got was the same "trans music and a message saying "Please wait to be connected"....."  I waited until the phone disconnected before I hung up.

My uncle just called me today from mexico and this number came up i will make sure to ask him whats this s**t about.

I just got a call from 1-214-586-0999.  Didn't answer it.  No message left.  Did not come up as International.  I am on Verizon's network.

My dad received a call, purportedly from 214-586-0999, that turned out to be a con artist wanting him to wire money to a bank in Israel (we are in Illinois).  There must be some way to block these calls from coming in!

A girl ask for a person in our household, when I said  he was not available and could I take a message, she said she would call back. I have tried numerous times to call the number and I get the message and music, it have been 6 mins and it finally disconnected.
