I called myself from my Skype number and this number with the name "International" showed up on my caller ID. Normally my Skype name shows up with an "Out Of Area" number.

It happened to me, a voice with "Please wait to be connected" and music when I called back. since I live near Dallas, I thought it was maybe from near here.

If it is someone's relative calling from this number why would they not leave a voicemail?

I received a call today from a man stating he was from the Social Security office on behalf of the US Government stating that the Government chose me to recieve $500.00 a month for 6 months because I was a good citizen.This man had my name, bank account number, and address.I called the Social Security office and they said that it was a scam, I had to make a report.

My wife and I were awakened at about 3:00 a.m. with a phone call from this number.  A young-sounding female voice asked for me by my first and last name, then she quickly hung up.  Thinking it could be some type of emergency, we called back and got the techno music described in other postings.

Now we're wondering if this could be the type of scam that bills you for the call back.  Also, we're concerned about identitiy theft.

If anyone can figure this out, please post a response.

This is weird. We received a call from this same 214 number at 6 in the morning. After that we were getting calls from a number with an 876 area code. They were talking really sick and were making threats. What can you do with something like this?

I got several calls from this number, caller name is "International" I answered one time the caller was a guy with a heavy accent. Alarming. hope we can all find out who is calling. I was adviced no to answer since this call can be charge to your phone.

this number came up on caller id. when i told them i was on the do not call list and to take me off their list!  when i asked them for the name of the company & phone number, they said they were calling from "Added Value," gave me a different number of 888.274.2445.  they also told me that the do not call list does not apply to charities? this is a telemarketer, they said they were doing a survey!! (Note:  A contact name from my address book was reflected on caller id, so do they also have access to names/numbers stored on our phone system?)

This number called at 10:00 this morning. I saw it was an international call and quickly answered thinking it was my best friend Danilo calling me from Brasil. As soon as i answered they hung up. About an hour later they called again. Again they hung up when i answered. I called back thinking something was wrong with Danilo. I heard a machine say, "Please wait while your call is being connected" And music started playing. So I waited and waited and finally sombody answered. I think it was a mexican, but I'm not for sure. They kept repeating something that i didnt understand. If you can tell me anything about this caller PLEASE E MAIL ME AT

I just got a call from this number but I missed it. I immediately went online to investigate the number and found this forum. This is just 1 of several weird numbers that have called my phone. Which really pisses me off since this is a new phone and number that I got for Christmas. The way I have been dealing with it is to put the numbers in a call group on my phone. I now have 4 numbers in this "special" group that I named "F**K U", only with all the letters. The reason is simple. Since I can only give ringtones to groups and not individuals, this particular groups ringtone is silent and no vibrate. So when they call nothing happens. Except 1 little beep that means I missed a call. Thats how I deal with it and maybe it will work for some of you.

I am getting missed calls from the number 214-586-0999. I don't how to block it. Please advise me.

i called my wife and asked her to call back and when she did the caller ID showed 214-586-0999. I wasnt going to aswer but i did and relized it was my wife and she was calling from her cell phone which is not that #

www.peterzahlt.de is a German website where you can call for free from a German land line to the US and other countries. Maybe it also available from other countries. The number first calls you then the other number. You don't have to pay anything. It looks like it displays this number as caller id.

My sister called me but this number came up on the caller id. I called it back when we hung up and techno music came on. I put the phone on speaker and went about my business for a while then somebody answered only it was distorted. There was a male and a female on the phone speaking spanish and they could hear me. It was a dating service of some kind because he was talking dirty to her. I called my cousin on 3 way and she asked who was speaking and the woman answered that she was a woman looking for another woman for the night. It was totally weird!!!!!!

This call came in before 7 am on a Sunday no less!  

Someone had been calling since 6:15 in the morning but never left a message. I only heard the phone as I had left the bedroom (no phone in there) and the baby was screaming because the phone kept ringing and ringing.  Apparently there were 4 messages on the answering machine but when I listened to them, nothing was said.  When the call came in the 5th time, I answered and said, "Hello?!" quite curtly.  The man on the other end said that he was looking for Martha Martinez.  I told him, "Sir, you have the wrong number...stop calling here...you are disturbing the household!!!"  I hope he heard me over my screaming baby! The calls have stopped *for now*.

I received a call from this number and my caller Id showed it as an international call. I do not know who called me. Can you trace this number?

I received a telephone call this morning.  Since I didn't recognize the number (1-214-586-0999), I let it go to the answering machine, but the call left no message.  Also, the Caller ID read, "International."  I do not know anyone outside of the U.S.

I asked caller what he wanted and said a Million Dollars, I hung up.  Did not speak good englilsh
