Two days ago, I received a phone call from 214-586-0999 at which time I did not answer it cause I didn't recognize call. Yesterday my phone rang from the same number and INTERNATIONAL appeared where name shows on caller ID.  I did answer the second call. An English speaking male with a foreign dialect actually asked for me using my real name.  I told him he had the wrong number as I wished to keep my identity from him.  Curiosity led me to *67 this number in hopes of finding out who had called, possibly affiliation, or what they wanted from me.  I got the same recorded voice message, a womans voice says "please hold while I connect your call." Immediately the calls appear to be on hold with strange,foreign,techno music playing.  Each time I hung up not knowing how long my call might be on hold. I am just like everybody else and want to know what business they have calling my house.  I have an unlisted phone number and on National DO NOT CALL Registry.  I would love to find out who gave them my phone number or how they got it!

GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER...I picked up....a hang up...then 10 secs later...someone called from Lagos Nigeria.....I suspect he is a scammer....(unknown displayed when he called)

had a missed calll

This number just came up on our office system.  Since it came in on our main line, I answered the phone as I normally do.  The caller as a lady calling from "customer service"  She said she was sorry to bother me with this, but she needed to verify the model number on our printer.  Luckily, I was already aware of the scammers that call, get the model number of office equip., and then just mail you toners and parts along with an invoice.  TOTAL SCAM.  When I asked what company she was with, she hung up on me.  Tried calling the number back just so I could hang up in her face, but all I heard was the techno music and no answer.

I am an apartment manager with a few tenants from Pakistan. I got a call from the 214-586-0999 number. The man on the phone stated that he was from Pakistan and that he was trying to get in touch with one of my tenants(he stated the tenants name) He asked for my tenants phone number and I refused to give it so he hung up. A minute later I received a call from the same person, except this time it said "Unknown Name, Unknown Number" He gave me a number to give to my tenant to call. It is 00971 502 836 536.. I have no clue what this is, but I don't think it is a scam. I think it is somewhat like a calling card. But I don't know!!

I received two phone calls from this number but no one answered.  I have been receiving numerous calls from telemarketers based in India or Pakistan telling me I have been selected by my government to receive $3800 and all I need to do is give them my bank information.  I am fairly certain this is the originator of these calls but since no one speaks when I pick up it is impossible to know for sure.

i do not want calls from this # they ask for someone that does not live here, when i tell them they don't live here they strart calling me aliar and stupid and saying shut the f*** up

Got a call from this number on my home phone & the caller ID said INTERNATIONAL (all in caps). I wasn't here to take the call but was hoping I didn't miss a call from my son-in-law serving in Iraq!!!! They don't get many chances to call. Now after reading these posts I'm more inclined to think it was a telemarketer. So much for having your number listed on the Do Not Call list!

OK NOW I DO BELIEVE NONE OF YOU ARE CORRECT . I HAVE BEEN CALLED FROM THIS NUMBER 4 TIMES A DAY FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS  I DONT KNOW ANYONE OVERSEAS THAT WOULD BE CXALLING  AND ITS A UNKNOWN NUMBER TO ANYONE ELSE ITS NEVER CALLED OR GIVEN OUT . IF U STAY ONLINE LONG ENOUGH WHILE CALLING THE NUMBER BACK U GET INTO A WIERD PASRTY LINE TYPE CONVERSATION I HAVE TALKED TO AT LEAST 5 DIFFRENT PEOPL EIN ONE CALL AT THE SAME TIME . ONE PERSON WAS CALLING FOR THIER NEIGHBOR WHO IS 90 AND 100 YEARS OLD  THEY WERE TOLD IF THEY GAVE 250 DOLLARS THEN THEY WOULD GET THIER WINNINGS  OF  SUCH AND SUCH AN AMOUNT I DONT RMEMBER  LIKE ISAID CALL THE NUMBER AND BE PATIENT TILL U HEAR PEOPLE TALKING U WILL GET SOMEONE SOONER OR LATER BUT NOT FROM THE PERSON YOUR ACTUALLY CALLING

I received a call from this number,but they hung up when I answered. When I called the number back there was no answer.

It is a scam! The caller will ask elderly people if they are on Social Security and when they say yes the caller asks if they want to enroll into a free medical program.  However, the first thing they ask for is date of birth, address, etc....


SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!

Amazingly, This caller knew that I am now geting a monthly check from Social security.(I got the first one yesterday). He said that he is going to send me a new health insurance card by mail.He has my correct address and ask me information about the bank I am getting my statement every month from.I refused to give any bank information and told him that I don't know who he is. At that momment, the sound became strange like going trough an echo chamber. He insisted about the bank but I did not gave anything. he finaly said "have a good day and hang up"

I was speaking to my husband on my cell.  Got interrupted from a call from 214-586-0999.  My husband hung up and my cell phone connected to the ringing call.  No one was there.  I kept saying hello and could not hear anyone.  I hung up and tried calling back as I was expecting a call from out of state about my disabled brother and I thought it might be them.  I got the weird music after a statement that someone would be with me.  No one ever answered.  I hung after a couple minutes thinking I had been part of a scam.  I called the number back on a land line and got the same message and music.  Then I Googled the number to see who it was.  I don't know anyone out of the country who would want to get a hold of me.  It sounds like a scam at work.  I am calling my cell company.

Answered call and the caller quickly hung up. very odd. If it is a routing number, the scam could be linked to cheap phone cards as well. I'd suggest not answering it and looking very closely at your next phone bill.

Got a call from this number and it was a man with an accent, couldn't tell what it was, and he asked for Mr. Thompson.  I said he must have a wrong number.  He apologized and hung up.  It was very noisy in the background with many people talking.  As someone noted earlier, it could have been a skip-trace call and they were given a wrong number.
