Like above...I clicked 1 to accept. i heard a couple men in background talking and it disconnected. It does say it is a free call. i do have an old friend in jail. anyone know how to get the call to not disconnect?
I got a call from this number one..the same guy who called from this number called from 2 other different numbers. it was a black guy from my county jail. but this number is loacated in dallas TX..i'm 1300 miles from TX...
Soo he said he dailed a wrong number but called back 10mins later from a different number..wanted to talk to me said i "sound good girl" *gags* (it was a recording of him though collect call) the 3rd time he called was from this number and was asking me "whats up" it was actualy him and not his recording. i told him to stop calling and i hung up. all 3 times he called it was from a different number but yet, those with our area code expect for the last call which was from Dallas TX. (aka this number)
I got a call from the 214 number, then a message to press 1 to accept it or 2 to reject and that it was someone from a correctional. I pressed 1 and it was an ex of mine saying that he was in a correctional and that he was going to be deported in 20 days. I don't know whether that is true or not because he has tried many things even those that no one can imagine to get back to me. He is very smart and probably he paid for some type of special caller-id cards that cost around $20.00 and had a typical correctional message recorded just to play to me when I would answer his call. It's sounds crazy but that's how he is....very tricky...
I got a call, last night (5/14/2008) about 9pm eastern time, and the ID said "Texas". No message, just silence. I do know a person who is in jail in Raleigh, NC. I believe this is just a telephone company set up for jail facilities, in order for inmates to place calls whether they have a phone card or not. I had received a partial message that said "This is a ? facility...press 1 to accept or just hang up the phone". So I figured it was a collect call from the person I know who's locked up, who should know by now, that I'm not accepting any collect calls from some jail facility.
Received a call 4:32 PM EST to my company cell phone from a guy who called himself Stephanie. Asked if I remembered talking before (nope) and asked if anyone was around (yup). Said he (she) would call back later. Caller ID just gave the number 214-661-4199. Didn't ask me to press anything, etc.
Seriously, Stephanie? Wasn't a call from India, was it? 'cause, you know, none of those people in India seem to have Indian names. They're all named Biff, Franklin, or Gretchen.
This is all very interesting. My friend is in a work release center and I have set up an account for him to call me. For a week he has tried to get it to work and it will not work. We even changed the pin number. BUT I have received two calls from 214-661-4199 from a different state. So it looks as if someone gave out my phone number and pin number to someone in a prison in Tx. (I am in Louisiana). I have tried for a week to get this straightened out and Chad in tech support for Infinity told me yesterday that my friend (who I told him was very smart and could figure out how to do this)is obviously "not too smart, look where he is". I seriously thought this had to be Candid Camera as no one in tech support for a company that provides phone service for prisons/work release centers would talk to and about the people who are paying his salary. After the remark he burst into very loud laughter. I have a call into the owner of the company when she returns from a trip. I thought perhaps it was a computer glitch (which Chad told me does not happen) but now I wonder if someone else has my number and pin and this was done on purpose. When Infinity answers the phone they say ILD something and that's what my caller ID said.
This is a correctional facility in Dallas, TX....1 of 13 to be exact. When I called the warden's office I advised them that I was getting calls after 9:00 everynight collect from one of the facilities and I was rejecting them. What the warden said was the some of the inmates are working a scam to get legit phone numbers and attempt to steal your identity....credit cards and the like. When I stopped answering the phone, the calls stopped
This is a number that is universal. If there is an inmate in a county jail or prison, they can get accounts set up with Infinity Networks. This number can come from anywhere including Louisiana, Alabama, Texas and anywhere in between. This is a totally free call, the inmates pay for the phone call(not you). Im in louisiana my fiance is a correction facility in south louisiana. I usually talk to him many times a day, but i put money on his account through money gram, or walmart. So don't worry bout suprise charges on your monthly phone bill. If you need the numbers to Infinity Networks they have a website with all them listed. www.infinitynetworks.biz
My son is in Anderson Detention SC Detention facility and he called using that number. said he got the card form somebody there?? This is the first I have seen this numberon my phone.
I have been getting legitimate calls from this number, but the calls originate from a different number. Let me explain:
Recently, my family has been having a variety of problems with the phone service at their country house in New Hampshire.
(214) 661-4199 is NOT the number at this house; in fact, my caller I.D. says that the calls originate from Dallas, TX. HOWEVER, when my family call me from their house - from a 603 area code number - my caller I.D. shows the 214 number.
When I call the 214 number (and even occasionally when I call the 603 number), I get a little musical tone sequence and a message that says something to the effect of, "This wireless number is no longer in service." BUT THEY ONLY HAVE A LAND LINE!
Anyway, interesting to read all the other scenarios too. Funny business, this...
I've gotten calls from this number twice, two time each time. The first time was a couple days before thanksgiving and now the second time is 2 days after Christmas. My ex fiance is supposedly in jail somewhere but I'm not sure exactly where. Is there someway of finding out who is calling?
Got a calls from this # at 3pm. 2 back to back and then another a few minutes later. Said it was from a correctional facility, a one time "free" call. When I pressed 1 to accept the call it disconnected, all three times. Since 214 is in Dallas, I called around to see if my son was in trouble. He's not, How do I stop these calls?
