Call from US Treasury

Said an arrest would follow if I did not call back or have my attorney call back.  Was a robot call.  I did not return the call; but research shows others did and the person claimed to be with the US Treasury.

If you owe back taxes, they don't do this.  All the stuff they say on TV that the IRS will do to get their money (if you owe it) up to wage garnishment, they don't call and threaten to arrest you if you don't call back.

And it is after (from what I have seen of others) multiple attempts at other ways to collect that they get even all the way to Wage Garnishment.  I literally laughed at the part of the message about putting aside what I was doing and again at the part about them being on my door step.

Googling US Treasure Scam Phone calls will bring up several articles where the IRS is issuing warnings of this behavior.  Scammers know people are filing taxes in the next few weeks and are trying to get access to people's bank accounts.

Received the robot call on my cell phone. Could barely understand the words. Busy signal when Ireturned the call

I just received the same phone all. They left a voice mail saying if I don't return their phone call ,I will be detained for the next few days and officials will be on my doorstep! I just started these calls from other numbers as well. I have heard on the news many people are getting these types of calls. Mine was from the US Treasury.

I go a call from this number exact same thing as you guys I called back and said I received a call from them all the guy kept saying was hello like 5 times and hung up. I don't owe on any taxes this is barely my 3rd year filing for taxes

I too received a robotic phone call from this number. I did call back and I said to the guy, for which he sounds like someone from India, "I am reporting you to the IRS, and then I hung the phone down

They said the very same thing about stop what your doing and call this number so.ething about 72 hours and att general and law enforcement would be at my door soon
