- H8SOLICITORSWAS CALLED BY FEMALE ASKING FOR OWNER. Always a red flag. Credit card requirements or some such nonsense. I just say yes, put them on hold and see how long they sit there with dead air.
- Caller: credit card processor

- Bob"Can I speak to the Owner?", yes the obvious red flag. Claimed I needed to update my credit processing for the new chip-and-pin stuff, although she knew nothing about my business, if or who I process cards with, but that they were required by Visa/Mastercard to call me. I seriously doubt Visa/Mastercard provided them my company name (which she never mentioned, so I'm not even sure she knew the name of the company) and number, and they didn't have my name either. It's sounds like a blind telemarketing effort to get new business for them.

- Bridget| 2 repliesThis company kept calling here asking for the owner of the company. Every time I said we weren't interested they would hang up on me. Same guy called us every day for 2 weeks. Finally the owner took their call to tell them to stop calling us. The guy wouldn't take no for an answer so the owner hung up on him. The guy called right back.. They wanted us to upgrade our credit card processing. Very unprofessional, rude and persistent.

- BobBob from 6/24/2014 again. They called back, asked for one of the fake names I give telemarketers, so game on. This person was very new, and could barely read the script. Keep trying to claim this isn't a sales call, but trying to set up an appointment for someone to tell me information about their merchant services. Sorry, but when you adamantly refuse to admit, and even deny, that a sales call is a sales call (or scheduling a sales visit), you've lost all credibility with me. They are using the Visa/MC chip-and-pin initiative to scare businesses into switching merchant providers. Hung up and they called back from 816-410-0834, so if you want to complain about them, you might try that number instead.
If you really want the truth about the new Chip-and-Pin Guidelines, don't listen to them. Get it from Visa directly at http://usa.visa.com/download/merchants/bullet ... d-practices.pdf- Caller: Allied Commercial Financial Services

- BobOnce again, they called back. Kept telling them I wasn't interested, but didn't hang up and let them ramble on. Probably kept them up for about 10 minutes. The group is probably a lead generator since they didn't seem to care that I wasn't interested and just wanted to send someone out. Maybe I'll let them, and then tell the person that I never indicated I was interested and they were sold a bad lead.

- Bob KThey called my business # twice but left no message. When I called a voice mail message was being played " Thanks or calling ATF. Please stay on the line while we connect your call". No one picked up the phone for a while so I hung up.

- ashcalls everyday asking for the owner. Tell them they are not available. Then asks for the owner by name...that still wont make them be there by the way buddy... Called twice today in the morning told them they were out today. Called in the afternoon told them they already called today and told them the owner was not available. The caller replied rudely well you didn't talk to me..I told him it doesn't matter the owner is out he replied said they're out? I said yes not here! He then replied no ones there?.. that's correct I replied then he hung up.Why won't they stop!!!

- BobStill calling and asking for my fake name periodically. Ask if they would like to leave a message, and the quickly say they will call back and hang up. Don't know why they do that, that kind of nonsense will never get by even the most average gatekeeper.

- Burned outGal continues to call with much persistence. Requested multiple times to be removed from the list and she keeps on attempting to get me to acknowledge if I am the business owner. She known my first name - I did not communicate this to her. The clowns need to be stopped, now!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BobOnce again. They don't announce who they are, but ask if {Fake Name} is available. No, of course he/she isn't, but never a message and they quickly hang up. Honestly, does ANY gatekeeper transfer a call from someone who doesn't introduce themselves to the owner "Oh yes, Mr Anonymous, right away!". Sounds third rate, to me.

- Burned outStill calling. I answer and hang up immediately. Any thoughts on how to escalate this?

- BobThis is kind of fun. This time they called asked for the business owner (apparently this dude didn't get the list with the fake name). So again they insist this isn't a sales call, so what exactly are they wanting to bother the business owner to help with EMV about? Just wouldn't talk to me, but it appears to be "sensitive" enough to only be able heard by the business owner. Claimed we weren't EMV compliant, and asked exactly how they would know that. Because I was told to call you. Yeah, that's authoritative... So if they "know" we're not compliant and were "instructed" to call, who's the name of the business owner? You'll call back? And get me again... They don't understand the function of a "gatekeeper".
