Some guy keeps calling and claiming to be from GMAC

I'm a Realtor in Colorado and just took a new listing.  This number called me directly and said his name was "Jacob" from GMAC.  He said that he was going to be the point of contact for my seller's short sale.  (which is a pre-foreclosure)  Red flag right away!!  First off, we aren't doing a short sale AT ALL!  Second, banks NEVER will call a listing agent to talk about a short sale to be "proactive" as he said.  This just isn't how it works.  I knew this was a bogus call right away so I just asked a few questions to see what he'd say.  He's a fast talker and a talked in circles.  I have no idea what he wanted.... but it definately isn't GMAC.  BEWARE of this number!  Don't give them any financial or personal information!

I am a Broker in Maryland and the number is not bogus--it is GMAC and I am working on a short sale and they were asking for some more information. I don't know why the other realtor was caught off guard. They are now playing with a new set of rules since Monday with the Obama short sale incentives.

This is a genuine number.  It is GMAC and its Loss Mitigation Department.  They are probably needing more information to process a loan modification.  They might be trying to work with you, but if you are dodging their calls, then they can't help you make it through the loan modification process.

This is a genuine number for GMAC , i have dealt with them a few times already, they set up and initiate the short sale with the equator system.

I rec'd a call today from a Carlos  214-874-2500 and after reading from a script of this a collection call of some type... He proceeded to ask if i wanted to sell the house or keep it? Or if i wanted a loan modification... I was driving so i asked it there was a call back number or if he could email me because i know they (GMAC) has all my info but he said not to call the number on my cell to call another number he'd give me but i was driving and he said he'd call me back in about 15 minutes..that was about 12 noon... it is 5:15 and i am still waiting...It kind of sounded like a scam trying to force or scare people into something...???

No message left.

I got a call from this number - I do not have a loan with GMAC, not in the market for any sort of loan modification, and we're definitely NOT looking to sell our house or purchase another one.  Not only that - but I use my cell phone for personal calls only.  

IMHO, beware.  They're phishing.

I got two calls within 5 minutes. The first time I responded and they hung up. The second time, I just let it ring. If no message, not important.

It is definitely a legit number from Ally Bank. They called to verify my account info.

It's GMAC. They've been harassing me for over two years calling for some guy named Scott Fox that I've never heard of. Despite several representatives assuring me that they would "take my number off their list", they continue to call. I have never had a loan with GMAC and I am beyond irritated by this unprofessionalism.

They were to set up new lower payments in 2012 still waiting..
Feb-2012 to may-2012 request I pay $501.00 have to quaritfy for A loan,
and be approve.  I went off..I want to lower my payments. .
Paid ,still not new motify loan..Talk to attorney.. request I keep making my reg.payments 665.00

They called me and leave no message. I own a house and am not late or behind..

They have called 20+ times and have never left a message. or answered when i answer them. it seems like a scam. my home is flat out owned impossible for me to need any of the above loan mods  or short sales. This is a scam people.

Just got a call from Robert Lawrence - saying I owe a negative escrow balance from several years ago. I don't know how they got my number because this isn't the phone number I had when I had an account with them. They had my full name and address.
