I am in Philadelphia and my ex fiance called from a pay phone nearby this number came up...so apparently this are code does not refer to a particular are if not just the carrier of the phone service for that pay phone or any other in the country...I believe it is Idle Communications...this is what pops up on the caller ID for me. I just got a call from this number and had no answer.

Then about 2 minutes later I received a call from 1-435-233-1007 and was asked to speak with Marian.  

Not sure if the numbers are connected at all it was just strange that I got a call from 2 different random numbers within 2 minutes of eachother.

I rec'd a call from 2149695489 on 02/08/08 @ 1:06am no message left, but the person did not hang-up right away. after 'record message' that person stayed  on the line for idk maybe 6-7 sec. without saying a word until hanging up. i could hear whoever it was shuffling around. I saved it on my cell. i did call back twice and it was busy both times. The third time it rang by the 12th ring i just hung-up.

My wife was in a hospital in Santa Barbara, Ca. On 2 occasions she used the phone in the room to call my cell phone. You dial 9 to get an outside line to make a local call. I got an operator both times who told me my wife was making a collect call and would I accept the charges. I knew where she was calling from, so I said no and called her room directly. It sure seemed strange to get a call from (214) area code on what I knew was a local call.

i got a call from this number from a jail/juvi cell from my friend and i have no idea where he is located and im trying to find out so if anyone could tell me where this is i would greatly appreciate it

Received a phone call from this number 214-969-5489.  They called my cell-phone which I just bought.  It is an LG TracFone.  I called back the number and get constant busy signal. The person who called left a message.  It was really weird.  A girl named Katherine says she is having problems where she is and s**t is going down there, and does not want to be there. She said she knows it is late but needs help.

I received a call from this number at 7:30 PM today on my cell, was on another landline call and couldn't pick it up.  Tried to call back several times and its constantly busy!!

Keep getting calls from 214-969-5489 just started about a week ago . When i call it back sometimes it rings and other times its busy ! They r calling my cell phone ! I'm glad im not prepaid. lol But it is agervating. And im wondering if alot of people are getting calls froms this number why hasnt anything been done about this ? Just doesnt make any sense!

I have a stalker who has called from this number. My caller ID showed "ILD TELECOMMUNI" in addition to the number. According to ILD's website, they do phone cards among other things. Since my stalker is also an OTR truck driver, I think the calling card angle is a pretty safe bet.

Got a call on my cell from 1-214-969-5489 "You have a collect call from [  no name] to accept these charges say "yes now". I hung up.!0 min later I got the same call on my home land line. This is a scam for toll charges.

I received multiple calls from this number throughout a one week period on my cellphone and the message left was a recording indicating that the call would be monitored and gave me instructions about accepting a collect call. It turns out it was a call made by a relative who is incarcerated in VA and calling from a payphone that as others have mentioned, is contracted out.

someone called from this number but didn't leave a message. I called back and it rang forever, then went to a dial tone. strange

8pm on Easter sunday from my kids biological father in the grand canyon. Definately a calling card routed thru ILD communications

FYI! I just got a call from this number, called it back as well. It was my brother calling me collect. It is a trunk number. When you call it back it will ring busy, because it is unable to accept incoming call.

my friend got a call from this number as well i looked up the number for her and found this sight this is very strange they said it was a person calling from jail and would she accept the charges then the phone hung up

Tape recording asking if I will accept the charges from a prisoner @ the Roanoke City Prison. The 1st minute is free then you can charge the call to a paypal acct. The recording plays the voice of a person who states their name. I was quite concerned because I thought someone was in trouble & this was their 1 call for help.

I Receive collect calls from this #1-214-969-5489 they say it is a collect call from the IRS. I just hang up the phone.

This number called me left a message saying w***e and hung up.  When I did a reverse look up it says unlisted in Dallas.  I've called back a few times and it was busy... I called 4/9/08 and it rang and rang with no machine.  Please let me know if you find out who it is.

Received phone call at 4:37 am - Thought I disconnected call but taped message was left on my cell phone that said my phone was blocked from receiving collect calls.  Tried to call back but line was busy.
