- Veronica| 1 replyMust be a bill collector if they don't leave a message...Not important enough to leave a message so it's not important enough for me to answer a number I don't recognize.

- CharChar| 9 repliesPerson called me at WORK and told me they were from the bank and we had a serious problem. I have received a number of collection calls at work so I transferred to voice mail for them to leave a message, after which I deleted the message. How do I get them to stop calling me at work and at home?

- berlyJust curious as to the legal claim thing. They left a message saying it was in regard to docket number such and such. I have received no papers saying a legal claim has been filed. And why don't they say who they are trying to collect for. Caller ID showed it was Allied Insurance.
- Caller: Allied Insurance
- CThanks for the info about this number. Someone called twice but left no msg. I called the number back, and it's "Alliance One." Has anyone reported them to the better business bureau? I just entered the number on their website and quite alot of collection complaints have been filed. Also, please contact the FTC regarding making the calls stop and protecting your rights. There's good information on the FTC website.

- razncane| 1 replyTotally lied and misrepresented himself and his call's intent to try to get information
A guy from the 'offices of Alex Rojas' called pretending to be following up on me as I was listed as a reference for "bob" who had made an application with his company. After some questions that no person checking references would ask like...
Do you know his phone number?
Do you know if he's still married to_______________
Do you know if he got divorced?
What is the name of his company?
I told him I couldn't give out any information- as most of it I did not know - ('Bob'just did some work on our pool one time), hung up and he then called back ten minutes later- I didn't answer and will never answer his phone call again.
Googled his phone number and found this site
Hope this helps- Call type: Debt collector
- D| 3 repliesI also received a call from someone claiming to be from the office of Alex Rojas. They were incredibly persistent, and implied all sorts of terrible things were going to happen to me if I didn't give them all sorts of personal information, and ultimately tried to get me to make arrangements to make a large payment right then and there over the phone. I suspect they work on commission, and whoever it was was doing a very, very good job of worrying me about the situation, also claiming legal action was going to be taken against me. I was on the phone with them for almost an hour, and the longer I refused to provide financial information the more intimidating they tried to get.
This was over two weeks ago, and I still have not received any kind of legal notice. Additionally, I recently made a payment on the account they were calling about, so it obviously hasn't been sold off to a collector.
The best course of action if contacted by these characters is most likely to simply hang up. Whoever I talked with sounded like he was very good at what he does - intimidating people into paying - so the less time spent on the phone with them, the better.- Caller: Allied One

- ec replies to nicoleIf a debt collector is on the level, he wouldn't need log on here to file obvious false reports about his wonderfulness.
- ec replies to mikeYeah, right.
I'm sure it was also just a coincidence that your message and the lengthy church sermon posted by "Truth Be Told" were posted here just twenty minutes apart.
