- Virginiacalled but hung up just as I picked up the phone.
- SeanGetting calls from this number. No messages, calling a lot. Caller ID just says "Unknown Name" as to the entity.
- Judith RabinovitchThis number is reported as being SAVE THE CHILDREN, a charity.
- oldaviator| 3 repliesIt is a charity solicitor on behalf of Save the Children. If you call the number back you will get the opportunity to have your number put on the Save the Children do not call list.

- malkus replies to oldaviator| 2 repliesThank you for clearing this up. I am a regular donor to Save the Children. This was a good charity; they have an 'A' rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy. I am very sad that they have gone over to the Dark Side.
- Lolly replies to malkusI also like Save the Children and have been a long, long time contributor - almost 30 years sponsoring children all over the world. I agree - I hate to see them using unidentified calling numbers. "Ohio call" tells me nothing. I took my name off the list. They'll still get my donations but not over the phone. When will these charities learn how much we dislike these sorts of calls!
- Nonaii| 2 repliesIf this is Save the Children, they've lost me as a contributor. Very poor professionalism. Like Lolly, I won't be donating over the phone, either.
- Caller: Save the Children
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Dave replies to Nonaii| 1 replyAgreed, very poor conduct. I also don't like the fact they simply change the kid you sponsor at their whim. I called and asked them why, and they said "We have completed our objectives in the village where that child lived". OK so like the kid isn't poor any longer? WHAT does that mean? I still give to child sponsorship charities, but NOT to SAVE THE CHILDREN. I have no idea why they called except to ask me to sign up again.
- mWhen I told them we don't respond to phone solicitations they hung up on me. Very rude. Will never donate to Save the Children again.
- Caller: Save the Children
- someoneThey called 3 times in the past month. I believe it is 'save the children'. Hope this trend doesn't continue -- i don't need to be solicited multiple times to donate - i can make those decisions myself.
- VeryAnnoyed-yup, same here, COUNTLESS calls, often several times/day every day, I called back and it was quick+easy to put my # on their "do not call list", BUT they said could take 30 days to kick-in (?ridiculous! -these days w/technology, even *2* days is absurd! oh well, I *WILL* make a note of this on my calendar and they have EXACTLY 30 DAYS b4 harassment claims are filed!
-grrrrrrrrrrr....

- EvaI don't like the fact that they just increased my monthly donation by 25% (do not ever use a credit card for the donations, I was stupid!) and they spent so much time e-mailing me and calling me that I believe majority of my donation is really gone to the overhead.
- AMLeft no message. Unwanted call.
- CharmaineI picked up one call (I get daily calls) and was asked if they could send me envelopes to stuff. I said, yes, but they still call and I never got anything...will have taken off their list

- Luna SkyfishI am so disappointed that this is Save the Children. Ihave supported them for years also, but NOT via phoen calls. This phone number calls me every day, and I do not answer and no message is left. I was fed up and called this number back today. I got a recording. It offered me the opportunity to remove my phone number, which I prompty did.

- DawnakinsThanks for all the info...I just called the number back and pressed '1' to have my number removed. I do believe in charitable organizations; however, those that use call centers only receive a pittance, really only pennies on each dollar raised. The rest goes to the agency making the calls to pay their employees and for overhead. If you truly want to donate to organizations, do so directly at ther websites. This way they can make the most of each dollar donated. I learned this while working for my local fire department. Citizens would call to see if the fundraisers were legitimate (donate and get ticket to see a well known music group, etc.) I called the actual firefighter foundation and learned about the call centers. They are the ones who suggested that donations be made directly to the charity. Hope this helps!

- JulieI called the number back. It is from Save the Children. They give you the option to press 1 not to receive any more calls. Doesn't seem to be an effective way to raise money ....repeated calling and hanging up. Anyway, you can "press 1" .... but they warn that it will take 30 days to process.
