Dont be misguided. I am so glad i took advantage of the phone call to clear up my bad check. My cousin wasnt so lucky and is now spending the next four months in the county jail. You cannot receive money or merchandise without paying for it..It will eventually catch up with you. Thanks a million!!!

I also received a call from someone saying they are from the compliance and fraud and that they would file charges to the hidalgo Texas office and they have been calling people I don't talk to like my ex husbands ex wife. I have no bad check records nor have I ever given out any checks. Anyone else heard of them before?

Yes this is a know scam, they used to use the name of the Harris County DA in Texas but she started putting warnings up.  These are known criminals attempting to scare you into paying them extortion money.

Funny - the same office called me looking for a relative and the caller - Kimberly Fields - said she was from the State of Ohio and got my number from State offices as a way to contact my relative!!!!  Scammy collection agency must be huge to have offices in all of these different states....and using this Cleveland area code!
