I just recieved a nastey prank call from this translator service for my Tattoo services, I'm assuming they(the caller) got my number from my business page on myspace. This individual was making drug comments, racisist comments and just saying nastey things, and when I said I was highly offended and wouldn't go thru with the appointment "he" asked if I didn't like handicapped people. I asked for a supervisor because I couldn't even beilieve that these people would say the things that were being typed but got disconnected as soon as he got on the phone and I can't call it back. I am still sitting here in disgust at what was said to me thru this service. its just plain WRONG.

My dear,

It is my pleasure to contact you for a business venture which I and my Sister, intend to establish in your country. Though we have not met with you before but we believe, one has to risk confiding in someone to succeed sometimes in life. There is this amount of TWELVE Million US Dollars ($12.000.000.00) which  our late father deposited with a security company in Abidjan Capital city of Cote d'Ivoire which he  wanted to used for his political ambition in our Country before he was assassinated. Now we have decided to invest this money in your country or anywhere safe enough outside Africa for security and  political reasons.
We want you to help us claim and receive the  consignment which will be sent to you through diplomatic means to your address to avoid any traces of the funds and to enable you plan for the investment in your Country. We will like to invest part of the money into these three investments in your Country but, if there is any other business that is better than our suggestion, we will be very glad to follow your advice.
1). Real estate
2). The transport industry
3). Five star hotel
If you can be of an assistance to us we will be pleased to offer to you 20% Of the total fund while the balance will be invested by you. I await your soonest response.
Respectfully yours,

I just got two calls (one from the 216 and one from the 612) and it was really weird. The operator was nice and explained what it was to me, but it was really weird. The person on the other side said "I've been watching you all day." It was quiet forever after I responded so I finally hung up. I decided to google the area code to figure out where the call was coming from and figure out if maybe a friend across country was trying to get ahold of me. I found this forum and read a lot of the stories. I didn't put anything on craigslist, but I did just post on ebay. Maybe that is the cause? Either way it is weird and I guess affecting a lot of people.

I hope the people abusing this service get caught and punished. It is unfair to take advantage of a perfectly legitimate service to help hearing impaired people.

Swansea Cole contacted me trying to buy a puppy.  He sent me a fake cashier's check for $3,200 which would cover the $700 price of the puppy and the rest, $2500, was supposed to be wired via WESTERN UNION to the shipper immediately.  this is the NIGERIAN ADVANCE FEE SCAM!!!  BEWARE!!!

"Swansea Cole"  ( fuade@yahoo.com, fuade3@yahoo.com, and fuade7@yahoo.com ) is only one of many names used by the Nigerian Scammer that we have tagged as "Patrick".  You can see a partial list of many of the names and e-mail addresses he has recently used in hay scams:

http://www.hay-scams.com/Inyang.htm

He is not only scamming the hay sales but also puppy sales, hollywood models, art dealers, photographers, auto parts, cell phones, furnature, and I am sure anything that is offered for sale with an active e-mail address.

The scam works by sending you a counterfeit check or money order that is written for more than the agreed on price and they want you to Western Union the excess back to someone (for hauling, taxes, fees, or any excuse). The amount to be wired back is always less than $3000 since that is the maximum of cash that a Western Union office *normally* has on hand. The counterfeit always bounces (it took 3 months in one case of a hay producer) and you end up owing the bank for the full amount. The wired money is gone!

The money is picked up by someone who is being offered a small percentage and they are to wire the money out of the country.  This is another Nigerian scam .... "work at home".  A lot of these "money mules" (google the phrase) end up getting scammed by being paid their commission with a counterfeit check!

You can positively check for a scam by asking for a small payment via Paypal.  If your buyer is valid they will comply.  Scammers will not since they will be handing over cash that they can not get back.

I received my first email yesterday and responded. Received second email contact today and thought it odd because the first one came from fuade7@yahoo.com and second one from swansea cole. It worried me since I don't want my puppies going to a "puppy farm" and the offer just sounded weird. I Googled the name and here I am. Thanks to everyone who reported this. It saved us from this scam.

Just happened to me at around 1 in the morning, they had a lady translate what they were typing on the computer. Whoever it was they knew my boyfriends name and that I'm a vegetarian and what I like to eat and stuff. They said they knew where I was and that I knew them, and they were coming to get me. The operater was in the middle of saying something then the line went dead. I tried calling back the number no one answered...
