Rely call regarding puppies, wanted address to send $ over...complete SCAM!

I got a call from this number, which I didn't answer.  I have an ad running for pups in the Newark (NJ) Star-Ledger, so these scammers must get their numbers from classified ads.

OK, Let;s get this company on the news and drag them to the bottom of the pit they crawled out from. Got a strange and disturbing phone call from this number  216-416-0033. Actually seems to me as sexual abuse. Really serious about them not releasing who is calling us. No idea who would be calling like this and a third party who would support this.

i got this call, didn't know who it is so i fast googled it before i picked up, and found this page, so i didn't pick up

I got 3 calls from the same number 216-416-0033 and the individual said someone wanted to talk with me through a PC and that they were a relay company. I asked on the first call not to be called again, but they were very aggressive.

Some jack*** keeps calling me from the number
ive got like 2 calls in a row now and am not gonna answer

I just received this call from an operator telling me that someone was calling me about an ad I just placed, it was different I must say, I even got an email from the mysterious person on the other side of the operator's line, I don't why this person made it so mysterious, just email me next time!

The FCC regulates call relay centers and cannot release information about the calls to anyone. EVEN the person they are calling.

This is just a call center, and the people who call in's numbers are protected, so they can be calling from anywhere.

For example: I received 40-60 calls from this number between 9 and 10, and didn't answer any of them, as I didn't know the number. Finally googled and found this, and decided to answer based on the fact that all people reported it to be a call relay.

The caller said "Hi" and I asked "Who is this?" the caller asked "What's up?" and I said "Who is this?"

From there on the caller was non responsive, I asked the operator to tell the person *who I have a strong suspicion is someone I had a bad experience with earlier today, who knows my number* that I am ending the call, and that if the calls persist I will call the police. No calls since...

Bottom line, scammers use it because it's easy to remain anonymous, and people who don't like you use it to protect themselves since they are too chicken to call you on their real phone, and cuss you out in person.

Caller phoned and said that he was deaf and would we email him about a purchase he wanted to make.  He said that he would send a person to pick up the merchandise, cashier's checks, etc.a story similar to the stories above and it sounded VERY questionable.  He used the name Alex Reymond and the email: alexbstore@yahoo.com.  If I had seen your comments first I would not have responded at all.  I also received a similar call about a year ago when we had another classified ad in the paper...DEFINITELY a SCAM  How can we get them to stop?

same thing happend to me....the whole we mailed you a check for 3500 dollars, just cash it and send the rest back to the shipping company western union

Ok I'm a relay operator. You realize there are hundreds of relay operators right and not just one and this number is where all the calls are being routed to right.

I have been having the same thing happen to me, harassing phone calls and a package i am suppose to get with donation money to a fundraiser but i knew it was fraud all along, i just needed this proof....so if I am correct, i should NOT sign for the package right????

I got a call tonight from this number and I thought it was a telemarketer and so I didn't listen to her when she was going over the information at first. The operator was relaying for the person typing. The person knew my name, my ex-boyfriends name, called me a crazy b*tch and told me they were stalking me!

I got a call this morning at 7:04 a.m. from this relay call center.  I am not familiar with relay calls, and I was immediately wary.  The operator explained the procedures to me, and proceeded with the conversation.  It was from my "boyfriend", who is probably a scammer of the worst order and connected to Terrorism.  He was calling saying he was detained in Germany to treat an infection he had.  I asked him to leave a number where I could call him back.  He said , "Okay, my love, I will call in a few hours with a number for you to call me back."  (This is probably so he can have a "doctor" tell me that he needs x-amount of money before they will release him).  I told him he'd better call me today because I was leaving for NC. I am wary now of him and figure I must be dealing with deadly people.  Since he thinks he can't perpetrate a crime so quickly (because I told him to leave a number and I didn't have any money) he said, "I love you. You can have my cell phone at home (323-XXX-XXXX.  I won't post it, I'm trying to research it).  I'm not there yet, why are you going to NC?"  I said to look at property, and he questioned whether I was buying a new home.  I said "We always talked about me looking to relocate.  He asked "Did you get the cell number at home?"  I said "yes, where is this?"  He said, "Cell phone number back at house."  I said "Cell phone in what city? (supposed to be Miami)?"  He ignores and says he will have it on when he gets home, and that it's not on now.  Tells me he left his other cells in Ghana because he wouldn't need them anymore.  I relayed that "Things are unclear as to what city you are talking about and where you are."  He says, "You can call in and leave me a sexy message so I can listen to it when I get off the plane."  We went through this iteration twice, with him telling me to leave him a sexy message so he could hear it when he got off the plane.  Then he said, "Goodbye.  I love you."  I said, "Goodbye, do you want me to leave it now?"  Responded yes to leave it on the cell number he gave to me. I said, "OK, that's all, I'm going back to bed now."  I tried to google his cell number, and it registered in Los Angeles as unlisted.  I'm afraid to use a credit card number over the computer to have it traced because I'm afraid these people have intercepted my telephone calls, somehow, and he is able to listen to all my conversations, as I had an attempt in the last few days at what I believe was an attempt at identity theft, when I was trying to add phone time to a calling card using my credit card.  Maybe I'll use my tracfone to call the cell phone company or the research company.  I googled in this relay call center number, and that's how I ran across these comments.  I even thought the operator was part of their scams, but I guess not, considering the comments above about this call center.  I'm avoiding any other calls from that number and probably even from his cell phone number until he has about 15 hours to get out of Germany (if he's even there) and get to Atlanta, if he is for real and NOT a scammer. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THESE ARE TERRORIST, AND THEY HAVE INFILTRATED THE U.S., SET UP "ELABORATE CALL CENTERS", AND CALL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE TRYING TO GET DONATIONS, ETC.  BEWARE!! HOMELAND SECURITY NEEDS TO WAKE UP!  WE ARE IN THE "DIGITAL" TELEPHONE AGE, AND I'M PRETTY SURE OUR CALLS (SUCH AS TO A CREDIT CARD COMPANY) CAN BE DIVERTED AT CERTAIN COMMUNICATION NODES. I'm having International call blocking added to my phones today, but that MAY NOT save me from this yet.

We operate a limo biz in Arkansas. Got a Relay call from England so he says. Wnats to rent a limo for 5 days. I told him it would be $2750 per day and I must be paid before the service. (No I dont really charge that much, but I felt a scam when it was a relay call. See that way they can claim to be anywhere and the call is FREE and hard to trace.) So he agrees and then wants me to purchase the airline tixs for his "parents" to fly from England to Arkansas. Even gives me the names to use on the tix's. I then went off calling him every thing but a southern gentleman. The oprater was even laughing at me. The scam was I would buy teh tix, he would then cash then in while I would be holding a bogus that he said would be from NYC.

Received a call from a male who stated that this was an IP Relay call.  The caller detail showed IP-RELAY 216-416-0033.  We told the person we were not interested
